I have Osteo Arthritis and Degenerative Scoliosis

I have suffered for 19 years with what I thought was bone pain. The attacks come and go, and sometimes they stay with me for very long periods of time. It's unpredictable.
However, my doctors inform me that the pain is not my bones. It is in my nerves. It seems I have \"scattered degenerative change with scoliosis of the lower thoracic and upper lumbar spine curvature to the left. Degenerative change worsens the scoliotic curvature but there is no uptake to suggest an occult fracture.\" Those were the findings of my bone scan.
My nerve test says I have carpal tunnel, both sides, but left hand is 'at risk'? I don't know how to inerpret that statement. I am a Southpaw, though.
My rheumatologist says I have Osteoarthritis and a vitamin D deficiency, (again).
I can tell you, this has stopped me dead in my tracks, and they prescibed Gabapentin, a seizure medicine, after I could not take Lyrica because it made me weepy, tired, and dizzy. The Gabapentin is having the same effect, plus: I am nauseated and don't know if it is due to the medicine or just the pain.
The medicine has not stopped the pain, and neither has aspirin. I told them I would not take any narcotics. I wish I could just unzip my skin coat and walk my soul right out of my skeleton. I just hurt all over, so badly, and I feel drugged, to boot.
Does anyone out there have an opinion on what I should do? What kind of doctor should I see?
I have gerd, hypothyroidism, and angle closure glaucoma, also, so I took extra eye drops today because my eyes hurt and the nausea together could be a sign of a glaucoma attack. I don't think that's the problem, but I just wanted to cover all my bases.
I am getting to where I can't take anymore. I truly can't stand this much more. It's truly the most horrendous pain. They haven't offered any surgical solution, so I guess none is needed in their eyes.
On a side note, I have done what I could to expect a more positive outcome. I have lost 48 lbs of ugly fat. It has not helped the pain, but I knew it wouldn't, as I developed these attacks when I weighed 118 lbs, and that was 19 years ago. I am 47, now.
