I have painful swollen or fat legs

Posted , 2 users are following.

I am 74 and have painful legs.

My left leg is much bigger than my right.

The skin is tight mostly on my shins which I thought suggested it could be fluid but there is no indentation when I press the skin.

I have big painful swellings at the back of both knees and a large painful swelling on the inner side of my left knee that is big enough to hold with my hand.

I keep my feet up every time I sit but the pressure on the back of my legs hurts.

Due to lock down I walk only an hour a day and there is no pain when walking or standing.

I've started to ware a tight leg / surgical stocking for three days, no change as yet.

I have not in any way damaged my knee joints or legs.

Have you consulted your doctor Pat? It certainly is fluid building up in your legs and knees and it doesnt have to pit when pressed. Big painful swellings on your knees may also indicate you have some sort of infection building up.Do please seek some help from your doctor, even if only a phone call. Taking your age into account this could be quite serious if left untreated.

      Thank you for your advice...

Two years ago I did go my GP and he didn't seem to worry and put me on Furosemide 40mg and they are worse than ever. I though it was part of getting older.

I shall contact him today. Pat
