I have red bumps and lumps on my posterior pharyngeal wall

Hi all
I’ve had no pain, no soreness or anything in my throat over the last few months just the feeling of something in my throat. Prior to that I have suffered with sore throats numerous times throughout this year. I went to the doctors and they did a very quick examination and said I had health anxiety.
However for the last three-four weeks I have had these weird red bumps on the back of my throat, and I’ve had these red lesion like bumps growing either side of my throat which are worrying me sick.
I’m really anxious and I worry terribly about any kind of illness, I always result in Dr google which tells me I have cancer every time.
I have an appointment with the Dr of the 27/12/17 so I’m hoping this gets sorted.
Has anyone had a similar thing?
Thanks
Jamie

Hi,
Yes I’m still fine. I found it much easier to keep away from these sort of forums to help me get over my health anxiety

Still the same, no change, I just try to keep from looking at it now. The DR took one look and told me to stop worrying it was harmless. It was just anxiety playing with my mind

I have the same issue. Made the mistake of looking in the back of my throat and saw these red blotches and started obsessing over throat cancer because I went on "GOOGLE." Past couple months I've felt like my throat was dry and something is going on back there. ENT said it was fine and so did regular doctor but I can't stop obsessing. I probably need Anxiety meds. lol

Hi I’m still alive yes, if you asking me! Don’t know about Jamieh.
mine was reflux. Went to see ent specialist and they confirmed was silent reflux. My throat itself looks no different whatsoever and ent said it may always look like this now. Basically the stomach acid coming up in night had aggravated my lymph tissue, it may never go down. It’s also started aggravating my ear and makes my ear have days where it feels full and only relief is when I pop it by holding my nose an closing my mouth and blowing, to relieve the pressure. Apparently the stomach acid can leak into you ears as their all connected are the ear nose and throat! It then causes headaches, thick dull headaches when my ears are bad. Im on omeprazole 20mg once a day and I’ve higher the head end of my bed. I’ve also joking the acid reflux group on fb. I didn’t feel convinced it was reflux until I joined this group and I sent other people on their page picture of my throat and they confirmed loads of em that their throat looked like this aswell. It’s great to speak to people with same conditions and bounced tips and ideas off each other. Anxiety is my main cause of this and I’m on antidepressants to try and relieve it, however it’s a vicious circle as the tablets also irritate to stomach.
ent felt mine started after two strong courses of antibiotics in December. I find, aloe Vera water helps, probiotics help, I buy probiotic tablets and Yakult drink also and trying to stay away from things that trigger it like spices food and not eat after 6! The silent reflux isn’t so silent anymore and I really notice the acid in my chest now, got a bottle of gaviscon permanently on my bedside table which I take straight before bed and rennies in my bag for emergency’s when out! Hope your all well! X
