I hope the image shows. I've had these strange lines on the bottom of my feet, on both of them for a few years now. I have no idea what they are. They are slowly expanding and for some reason they become a lot more visible when the foot is wet. It's wet in the picture. I went to the doctor about a year ago but for some reason they weren't really that visible then so she told me it was nothing. They don't really bother me that much but I don't like that they grow slowly and I don't know what they are. The Internet has given me nothing so far. I feels like the doctors can't help me either.

They look like strips of thicker skin that the sole of the foot can develop in response to the way you walk. In themselves they arent a problem but regular pedicures can help to keep them from getting wider. You dont have to get a professional pedicure. Just soak your feet in warm soapy water for 15 mins and then rub your soles with either a pumice stone or one of those metal foot files you can buy.Rinse and dry well and smother your feet in a good body lotion before you go to bed. Do this every 2 months or so.
If those lines are left they can cause painful feet eventually. Most people have them but in some people they can get quite hard and painful.
