I have suffered from ectopics for 20 years and they have rapidly increased with age and each subsequent pregnancy. For the past 3 years i have been in hell, literally, but as you all say the dr's and hospital do not want to know. Currently i am having 1000's a day, and have runs ofanything up to 12-14 in a row, and the headaches these are giving me are awful.
I have had a pounding headache now for months and no amount of tablets relieve it. Not sure if its the extra beats causing it this time or just tension. All i know is i have a run of them and then my heads literally pounds. Mine ease about 2 days before my monthly and then start again after my period, never disappearing completely but certainly easing over my period. I definately have more and worse bouts when i have problems with my digestion. Sometimes they will start and i just reach for the Gaviscon and they stop almost instantly.
It holds me back so much. I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve prolapse when i was 15 yrs but still believe mine are mainly caused by hormones and digestion, but not all of them. But i have searched and searched and can never find the answers or professionals to take it seriously. Currently going back to Gp as i am having so very many (barely a normal beat) that it is now affecting my life, but whats to be done ? Who knows

thanks for your posting....now you mention water retention it does make me realise that i am forever at the toilet...i am going to monitor if this is normal for me or worse when my heart is upset...i am trying alternate therapy now and go for \"shen\" and i believe this is helping me, i certainly feel more positive again! i recently had an intolerant/allergy test at a chinese clinic and was found to be dairy, wheat and gluten intolerant....this didn't really surprise me as i often have an upset stomach after eating these products...so i have totally excluded these from my diet and have to say my stomach and bowel is certainly by far better.....i now go for \"shen\" leading up to my period and had my first proper period in a year last month...yipee!!! My specialist is referring me to see a hormone speicialist so hopefully something will help...see it's no fun being a woman...haha...only joking as obviously ectopics affect both genders! I found a good charity \"Arrhythmia Alliance\" which is very informative so have a look and see what you think...they are having a UK heart congress in September in Birmingham...i live in Scotland but am hoping to travel down as there is a day for patient experiences and i think this could prove interesting....get back to me if your interested and want more information? i can be contacted via here or probably more quickly at: ****
I had a EPS study done with the view to ablation but this was not an option for me but i sincerely hope yours is a success...i wouldn't wish arrhythmias on my worst enemy....
take care
kathleen :ok:
