I have threadworms and need help!

I posted earlier as I had some symptoms but not all of them. I now have really assed my stool and I saw a female threadworm. I am freaking out now. Can someone please walk me through the steps of what to do?

How does one get rid of them? Even if you take medicine isn’t it easy to get re-infected if the eggs are still around on surfaces? The cycle seems never ending.

Can I take medicine without going to the doctor? I am in Canada and we have something called Combantrin which is “Pyrantel Pamoate 125 mg”

How long until I can get these out of me?

sad Help.

Hygiene is the most important part of getting rid of this. Wash everything in hot water. Wipe down everything with bleach and allow to airdry. Get an over tge counter med from pharmacy but remember you play the biggest part in getting rid of them. Do not sleep on the same bedding each night and always wash them right away and especially your underwears, wash them in hot water because they are easy to contaminate other things. Get a can of lysol and spray your door knibs and table countertops and the air this would definitely help.  Good luck...

    Hi kara,

Glad you did your own assessment on your stool and you now know you have thread worms. frown

Firstly, don't freak out!..Secondly, continue with your hygiene regimen ..and get threadworm medication from the pharmacy if you dont wish to go to your doctor..(don't be embarrassed asking for the threadworm med it's common).

Thirdly,  whilst taking the meds keep checking your stool to see if they have cleared. Could be a long process, but you will eventually eradicate them.biggrin

    Best wishes...
