    Hi genny25800,

So sorry you are suffering. I know how outrageous the pain can be. Is carbzipine a variation of carbamazepine (my savior) ?

My savior works as long as I maintain the proper dose which has increased over time.

Don't give up because as soon as you have the right medication, you'll be good as new. What is happening with your neurologist? Do you have a plan?

    Hi Genny,

Sorry you're in so much pain.

Has your Dr referred you for an MRI scan? Also have you had your ears checked out too? Been to see an ENT specialist? It's always best to get these tests just to rule out any underlying problems there may be.

Did your neurologist find anything after examining you?

I agree with Eddie keep taking the Carbamazapine, once they settle into your blood stream you will be fine.

Meantime get your Dr to refer you to the above.

Let us know how you get on. We are all here for you ok?

There are many other medications to try. Have you tried a tricyclic like Amitriptyline or Nortriptyline? How about Lyrica? Or Topomax?

Some poeple also get relief from a combination of Gabapentin and Amitriptyline.

Don't give up. Keep searching for answers
