Talk to your doctor! A blood glucose test takes ten seconds. If you have any friends who are diabetic they can use their stuff to run the test, or maybe a local pharmacy? Everything is one-time use, disposable, costs less than a dollar.
Of course a doctor will do other tests as well.

If you are in the UK, log onto the Diabetes UK website diabetes.org.uk. Lots of information there, and a Forum where people can give advice. Diagnosis is by a blood test called HbA1c which measures the average over about 12 weeks, but in these troubled times it might be difficult to get to see anyone. A blood glucose test will show the level at that time, but varies considerably during the day, depending when and what you have eaten. You will get a high reading if you've tucked into pasta, bread, rice or potatoes but that does not automatically mean diabetes. They are great for monitoring foods after diagnosis, or planning insulin requirements but not definitive. If you have already been diagnosed and are experiencing these symptoms, you need to speak to your diabetic specialist nurse or GP.
