I healed fracture distal humerus and complications

Hi

I posted a while ago but didn't explain myself properly. Long story short I started with pain in both shoulder, ultrasound showed bursitis in right shoulder so GP assumed left shoulder was the same and gave me 2 injections. Pain worsened and shoulder didn't look right and is imprinted. Recent Mri results show fracture of the distal humerus that looks separated , there's a lot of fluid in the are and I have severe arthritis in top of shoulder to collarbone . I'm seriously worried as booked a holiday for 20/09 and now an urgent referral has gone to surgeon . My shoulder is also frozen due to all of this. Can anyone advise of what might happen next please

I am so sorry for what you are experiencing. How awful. I have not had any fractures. I had rotator cuff surgery and some spurs and that same bone across my shoulder was "nipped off about a quarter inch" due to arthritis. With a frozen shoulder, it's my understanding that all your rotator cuff muscles are "freezing up", and the only way to un freeze it, is for the surgeon to simply Force the movement while you are sedated. With all you are having done, I don't see how you can go on holiday in a months time. When will you get this done? You will need pain medication and an excellent therapist when your doctor gives you permission. HOWEVER, IF all goes well, anything is possible. I don't know how long the shoulder pain will take to go away from the frozen shoulder. I had torn supraspinatus with other things and am still in therapy and have not quite reached full range of motion. Still some pain. Shoulders take a long time to heal as there is not much blood flow in the shoulder. Truly wishing you the very best. Keep this up to let us know how you are doing.

Hi and thanks for your kind words. I got call today with an appointment for 7th September, I explained my holiday situation and my concern but nurse said not to worry as treatment times are quick. I know I probably will need an operation to fix fracture then sort frozen shoulder out and loads of physio but would like operation before I go abroad

      Hi

My daughter took me to a&e today as my pain isn't under control. I have to attend fracture clinic Monday morning to see orthopaedic surgeon so hoping this may mean I may be repaired sooner

      Update

Been messed around by fracture clinic , been sent there twice now and twice turned away all because I didn't have a fall or trauma apparently. I felt like going outside and deliberately falling just to get treatment. I have apparently a proximal humerus fracture with severe arthritis in top of shoulder to clavicle and a lot of fluid. 2 weeks have now passed since I was advised of this fracture via A&E and still have to wait till 7th September to find out what needs to be done. I have no sling etc just high pain medication
