I hit my head in the wall! Freaking out!

Yesterday I fell and hit the back of my head in the wall... I didn't lose consciousness, I don't have a headache, I'm not nauseous and I haven't vomited, but I'm still scared I damaged my brain... I feel like I'm going to pass out and die... What if I have a brain bleed or concussion? I'm too scared to sleep in case I don't wake up... Do you think I need to see a doctor?

Hi, Anne! Well, I would say that you are not in any danger because it has been more than a day since you hit your head and you haven't had any worrisome symptoms.

Don't be afraid to sleep. It is not advisable to sleep immediately after hitting your head, as this could trigger other symptoms. However, if you don't have vomiting urges, difficulty tocwalk, or severe neck and head pain, you can rest normally after a few hours.

If you want to mention this to your doctor at your next check-up, that's fine, but otherwise, rest assured!

if it will give you peace of mind and sleep , then by all means see your doctor or call the physician assistant. you sound optimistically cautious. you don't have any symptoms as you explained or bump? , no obvious head injury. yet these things can be tricky. its up to your observations and opinion to help alleviate your fears.
