I just found out I have herpes I'm so upset...

I just found out I have herpes, I went to the the doctor yesterday and he looked at penis and instantly said herpes with no hesitation. I'm so upset... I have bad depression as it is and now with this new info about my body I'm overwhelmed to say the least. I have meds now. I know the statistics are high for someone to have herpes and other infections. But I'm so disgusted with myself for having it. I don't even want to try and have a relationship with someone. Can someone please try to help me. I wrecked my truck today and I'm so over everything right now. Idk what to do anymore...

Hi Bradley. I hope you are feeling a little bit better about your condition. Being on this site has helped me accept what I have and I hope it can do the same for you. Ask a lot of questions and many will answer. We are here to support you.

When I found out back in November, I thought my life was done. I was so afraid and I just started seeing a guy then. I told him and things did not end so well but at least I was honest. It's January now and I am happy with my life. Sure I am not as confident about myself (physically and sexually) but things are so much better.

I am here if you want to talk.

So sorry to hear about this. Have you had the proper tests done though or did your doctor just say you have? I'm awaiting my results but I'm quite sure of the outcome being the virus. One thing is I've read up a lot since being tested on Monday and don't think it's the end of the world, there's people out there with far worse. Have you read much about it?

I'm awaiting test results as well, but my doctor seemed pretty certain it is herpes...

You have to keep busy, and do things. The more you dwell on it the more it will drive you crazy. Working out had helped me tremendously.
