for the last three months i have had, insomnia, constipation, and upon standing my heart rate goes up dramatically. its also really hot right now where i live so its made things much worse. so when i say im not a typical case for one thing im male not very common and secondly my symptoms started as aggressive insomnia so i saw a sleep specialist and luckily he also had a background in internal medicine so he was very familiar with pots and diagnosed me right away. My question is, has anyone of you had insomnia as your first symptom. The doctor said that was unusual and nothing brought it on. Also wouldn't mind any tips that have helped you with this condition other then hydration and more salt intake.

I think its natural to struggle to get to sleep when heart rate is high. Successful sleeping comes from relaxed brain function. Heat before or while sleeping helps a great deal, and sometimes hot drinks.

hi! i have had the same experience - i was diagnosed with anxiety though, although i dont feel anxious and have a similar pattern looking at my heart rate.

im taking mirtazapin 7.5mg and it helps me sleep like a baby, while i still feel tired and dizzy most of the time.
