I just got my cast off but where I broke my foot doesn’t hurt

Hello eight weeks ago I broke my fifth  metatarsal. three weeks ago I got my cast off. when I got it off the doctor said I need to wear a walking boot for another four weeks it’s been three weeks now and I have walked on my foot a little bit without the boot on where I broke the bone doesn’t hurt at all and I’ve stood up on my toes,(with assistance)  moved my foot around, and can walk a pretty normally, but at the balls of my feet where someone would stand on their toes hurts like nobody’s business. it kind of feels like a ball is in my foot pushing up against all my nerves and it hasn’t gone away. it has been there since the last week of having my cast on and nothing is really making it go away. I’ve put pressure on it, massaged it, and iced it but none of that seems to be working and I am a dancer so I go up on my toes quite a bit naturally this is worrying me. Is this a normal thing that will go away when I start walking on a daily basis?

I would get an X-ray and maybe get a good massage. The balls of the feet are very tender.
