I've been on Zoloft for 8 days now(today is my 8th day 9/15) and last night I was trying to sleep but I felt super scared and shortness of breath and I wasn't to tired and I started panicking around 1am and I ended up calling my girlfriend and talking to her and she helped calm me down then I made food ate some of it and felt tired and went to bed and had a problem in the beginning but eventually fell back asleep, I've never been to the break of tears while panicking and that scared me so is that what I should expect?

I believe it might just be that the zoloft is not working. because i know it does take a few weeks to kick in. Today is my 5th day taking 50mg of zoloft and i still feel so anxious and a lot of anxiety today. My stomach even hurts and i can't eat. Anxiety does a lot to our bodies. You probably just had a panic attack

Yes, it's a side effect to the medication. I've been on zoloft(25mg first 5 days then 50mg ) for 18days now and the first week I felt extremely panicky. My heart would "drop" for no reason, paranoia would kick in and I'd start getting super anxious and have mini attacks.

I have another question so whenever I close my eyes it's like little white dots are just having a party so I don't know if I should be worried about that

Hi.
It is a side effect from the medication, I suffered really bad when I was first put on this about 3/4 months ago.
The Dr's did explain to me that all the anxiety feelings can be heightened until your body gets used to the medication.
Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you so much, I'm on 50mg and I've felt really good the past 3 days then last night I had that major panic attack and I've never had a really bad one to have me in tears so I'm just trying to see if anyone else has felt that

You're more than welcome.
I have good and bad days. I'll wake up feeling ok, and get on with the day. And other days, I just feel awful.
Racing heart, feeling sick, dizziness.
You just have to cope with it, it does get a lot better once your body has adjusted to it.
You're not alone.

Is your question about being tearful? If it ibreaking into tears is a healthy response to anxiety, it's a therapeutic abd natural way of releasing our emotions.
The zoloft needs time to work also, you should start to feel the benefits kicking in around 4-5 week mark so sit tight and have a good cry if that's what your emotions want to do. Neil

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that I started out on 25mg--and I felt the same symptoms when trying to go to bed. They went away after the first 2 weeks for me. Don't give up! :-)
