I love rice and it constipates me. What to do?

Hi

I love sushi but I have noticed that it constipates me really bad. I have tried taking laxatives before and after eating them to no avail. Actually after 4 days of being constipated the laxatives made it worse.

I used to go to sushi buffets and stuff on sushi.

I have stopped doing that and once in a while will eat only one roll and it doesn't fail my poop gets real hard and I become constipated.

Is there something I can take/Do prior and after eating a few sushi (Not gorging myself but just eating a few.)

I have made myself some sushi at home with brown rice which does not constipate me but it's just not as good as white rice.

Thxs

Have you tried any perscription medications for motility?

No I did not. I didn't even know what motility meant until I just researched it.

Shall I mention that to my doctor?

Just to let you know I am a 37 year old male living in the United States so my wording may be regional/ cultural.

I would I use the word motility to refer to being “regular” per say. There are actually specialists that concentrate on bowls movements etc. I take motegrity which is not a laxative but works to keep the GI tract moving, Trulance, Linzess, and Amatiza are three prescription laxative I’ve used, they are a bit abrasive but will flush you out. Also I’d inquire about food allergies or maybe something herbal like senna to use on occasion.

Omfg, I just ate rice and I was having real bad stomach aches (woke up from it). I think I finally know what is wrong!!! I have a candida infection in my small intestines (google candida stool and that's what my stool looks like sometimes, especially after eating tons of white rice!) let me know what you find out!!!
