I'm 14 years old and suffer from Chromic cluster headaches.

I'm a 14 year old girl from england and i have experianced chromic cluster headaches since the ages of 6.

This is my first time doing something like this, and i have never spoken to anyone with the same condition as me.

When i was younger i used to experiace a hurendous pain my my head my friends just said it was a headace so i tried to carry on with my day but no matter what i couldnt get rid of it, I'm not the kind of person who takes pain killers i just like to fight out the pain usally, cause i don't want my body getting to attached to them, but this time i couldn't bear it i took some pain killers but they didn't work evey time i said i had a headache my mum would just say 'oh take some painkillers and it will go away' but they never did. I never really told anyone about my headaches because i just thought they were normal, because i was only small.

As i have grown up they have gotten worse, i now get from arround 8-15 cluster headaches [b:531749f46f] a day [/b:531749f46f] and there was nothing i could do about it so last august i told my mum about them to see if they were normal and she said i should take painkillers wherever i go just incase but my nana being the worry guts she is told me to go to the doctors, so i did and luckily i my GP is a headache specialist and diagnosed me with [i:531749f46f]Chronic[/i:531749f46f] cluster headaches straight away, she said sometimes theycan get confused with migraines and they dont respond to pain killers.

So she put me on medication and it doesn't seam to work, it cuts them down so i have from about 5-7 a day insted of the amount i was having before but they dont compltely cut them off.

As im writing this i have a headache and i can't think straight.

I'm still coming to terms with the fact i am ill, i'm the kind of person that just likes to be the same as everyone else and get treated the same but that's never going to happen and i just have to learn to accept that, but i have such a rare condition that havent spoken to [u:531749f46f]anyone[/u:531749f46f] who's had cluster headaches before, and i just want to have someone to talk to at the end of the day who knows what im going through.

9 months since i was diagnosed i still haven't spoken to anyone.

If you have cluster headaches and feel you are alone, please contact me at anytime, i would be happy to talk.

    Hi Bilzo

Sorry to hear that you been diagnosed with Chronic cluster headache.

You say that you get 8 - 15 attacks a day. How long does each attack last?

If you want to get more info about cluster headaches, then look at the OUCH(UK) web site or call our Helpline number for help and advice (see below for number) - leave a landline number and somebody will call you back.

It may be possible for you to chat to another teenager suffering the same as you are - subject to his agreement.

I have had severe headaches for year. Many different types. Lasting up to 4days at a time.

My doctor tried triptan migraine drugs and cocodomal painkillers which can control it a bit but there is still pain.

To any headache sufferer who reads this i have found out that painkillers do exactly that - kill the pain they do nothing for the cause of the headache.

At decemebr 2011 i had my worst attack and was in agony went to hospital a&e where i was given painkiller and sedatives, i followed this with a visit to my doctor and was advised to try an osteopath.

Ihave now had 4 sessions and am reading a book on breathing. so far i am a lot better.

I just wanted to share my experience.

With internet access any sufferer can research this before committing to anything. There are other options to pills/doctors/surgery

Hi, I have just read your post and I know it's rare for such young people to have cluster headaches.

My daughter, who is only 10 has suffered for nearly a year now and they are getting worse. She has been on Pizotifen so far, it worked at first but now it has no effect.

We have visited the Dr today to see if there's anything else, but because she is so young, there isn't.

I'm trying to find out if there is anything in the diet that might trigger them so if anyone knows of any, please tell!

I fully understand how awful it makes you feel and that it has a major impact on your day especially at school, I do hope you find some releif soon

Hi, I'm Tori, and I'm also fourteen.

I was reading this because I have been experiencing cluster headaches so I searched it up to clarify, and make sure it was normal. And then I saw your story, and I just want you to know that you are not alone. I haven't been diagnosed with this, but I have been experiencing them for a couple months. And now that I see what it could be, I think I should probably look more into this. Thank you for your story, and you have my support.
