I'm 3 days in and need help

I've just been diagnosed with genital herpes. I don't even know the lingo yet but I think its HPV2...but I can across this site and couldn't have been more excited! I am experiencing an OB and waiting for my medicine to kick in. When i went to tell the person that I contracted it from their words were "Hmmmmmmmmmm ok...well I'm on vacation"...is this a normal response or what!?! Also, I'm not very big on taking medicine, are there any homeopathic remedies that actually work to sooth the OBs? I saw a soap online it was about $12 a bar but if it worked I'd buy it. I know your diet, stress level, and overall health has a lot to do with everything and I am fairly healthy so I'm just seeing what everyone's little tricks are. Thank you in advance for any help, advice, or whatever you can offer.

    Hey.

I guess everyone has their own was of responding to hearing the news. The best thing is to offer your help and support whilst leaving them to take it on board however they deal with it. Everyone is different and reacts different.

I've found that keeping clean and dry helps. During my 1st OB I took a bath nightly just to soothe the pain and/or irritation but allowing thorough dryness after! You're next lot of OBs will never be as bad as the 1st believe me so I think it best just to find what you're comfortable with in order to cope. x

All the tall about nuts, chocolate and caffeine, taking lysine are wives tales and have nonscientific backing to them and I've tried them all. You need to soak in Epsom salt baths as much as possible when you have symptoms and take a probiotic daily w at least 2 billion bacteria, that boosts your immune system. It sure of you are male or female... A thick coating of Vaseline rekives pain from friction and urine. Drying them out is a wives tale as well w no scientific backing and just hurts more. As long as the virus is present, the sores are present, hence why people can have the same sore last months... Don't fall for the wives tales...

Other than that, there's not a lot you can do for your primary ob, gotta ride it out.

Oh I forgot to put that I'm a female and I'm 33. I do not drink any caffeinated or anything besides water daily. And have already been on a probiatic for the last year. And I try extremely hard to stay away from artificial colors, sweeteners, and flavors. But I'm sure that's all hear say too. Thanks again for the feedback!!!

So I did a lot of study behind the wives tales remedy's and not one scientific evidence backs it. It's like a placebo effect. I'm just responding based on science and not opinion. I've studied the virus on the virology level and know for a fact, none of the wives tales work. Hope you feel better and keep your chin up! Feel free to pm me if you have any other questions and looking for facts.

regarding the wives tales comment regarding what works for myself and many others to PREVENT FUTURE OUTBREAKS, it's a long hard lonely road if and when you have reoccurring OBs that can BE AVOIDED by avoiding items that stimulate the virus to activate again.

My experiance is that what I've offered has helped repeated OBs and an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

Cheers in learning what works for YOU
