I'm 95% sure I have cancer and no one believes me or cares.

It started in april of last year, I suddenly got joint pain everywhere for no reason. It went away after a few weeks, but then I got tingling and numbness in my right foot. That went away, and then I started getting pain in my lower left ribcage. Then I got pregnant in July. Started getting a weird tight feeling in my right calf and forearm. I've still been getting these symptoms on and off.

Now, everything is so much worse. I get random tremors, my whole body feels numb, I wake up with weakness in my right arm, my whole body feels weak, my calf muscles look like they're wasting away. For two months i've had a lump in my right foot which looks like a tumor. I also get stabbing pain in my left rib cage now.

I just KNOW i have cancer and it's everywhere. I'm 8 months pregnant and doctors won't do anything because i'm pregnant. My family thinks i'm crazy. They think it's anxiety. but anxiety doesn't make a lump appear on your body. My anxiety is the worse its ever been, but only because it feels like my body is dying and no one wants to help me. What am I supposed to do? Everyone says that my baby is the most important (thats why the won't do any testing), but what about me? sad

Think about it, if you dont have the lump would you say that you have cancer?

Lumps are normal they come and go, your symptoms looks like anxiety. Yes you might panick now because you cant check as you are pregnant but still the doctor can see it ant do manual check. Go to the doctor and let the doc see it and exam it. And after the baby is born you can check it ( that if it is still there by that time ).

You will be fine i have lumps they come and go and it is normal. I think by over thinking you will have a panic attack, yes the baby is important and you are important but as you now a mother you have to be patiant and strong.

Anxiety is not easy, i understand that and you are not weak. Go to the doctor to see it ( dermatologist )

Yeah I was worried about cancer before I got the lump. I've been twice about the lump and they think it's nothing. But with so many other symptoms, I don't see how it can be nothing.

They could be anxiety symptoms. And as you are pregnant you know hormones changing.

Lets wait to another woman to come here and she might help you because i dont understand about your hormones.

Do not panick you will be fine and you will have long healthy life.

Your problem at this time is you are in the last month of giving birth, if they thought you had Cancer they would have induced the birth to stop the child becoming ill and so they can operate upon you as well

Many people get funny lumps?, on feet where toes have lumps and the big toe is a real problem when you get lumps there.

Your condition seems to be Anxiety and if your GP thought any different believe me when I say you would be told if you had any problems.

Your side effects seem unrelated to a Cancer and you need encouragement from family and GP.

Ask for tests after the birth, you will most probably forget all your negative thoughts soon at birth of your Baby

We are here to talk and give encouragement, Good Luck

I'm 32 weeks so i still have two more months rolleyes  I just don't see how doctors assume they know everything even when they haven't done any tests. They don't really know. they're guessing.

Dang thats unfortunate, if i was in your situation and no one believed me i would look into natural remedies that are suppose to be good for cancer and incorporate them into my diet, such as tumeric, garlic etc as well as try to enjoy the time i had left. then if the inevitable did happen i knew in my heart that i tried everything on my end to prevent it and atleast i wouldnt be worrying in a way that could affect my pregnancy.

Now you mention a lump on your foot, how big has it grown in the last week, for it to be cancer i would say the lump would have to be doubling in size every month but even then it could still be a lipoma. tumors that are cancerious are also very hard and it would will like a bone when you touch it.

Prhaps you should see an orthopaedic dr to get a second opinion about the possible causes of the lump. Sometimes ganglions can appear very quickly. Thse can be drained at your surgery.

?The numbness , tingling could be due to a low calcium and vitamin D due to the baby depleting your body of these vital  minerals and vitamins. The other possibility is that you are lacking in Vitamin B12 especially relevant in pregnancy. The womans iron stores become depleted due to the pregnancy. The ane natal clinic normally check the blood for any anaemias.

Please discuss all these issues with your GP and also the obstetrician or midwife who are looking after your ante natal care.

The drs should be taking this seriously because it is in your interests and also the growong baby's interest to do so.

Don't be fobbed off. Get the lump diagnosed as it may be something such as a ganglion. Did it appear very suddenly?

?Take care. I used to be a midwife.

Well they did take an x-ray of my foot. The lump didn't show up because it's on the soft tissue by my ankle. My OB already knows but doesn't seem to think anything is wrong with me. GP also thinks I have mental problems.

And honestly when the lump first appeared, I really didn't notice. I started getting a weird feeling in my lower leg whenever I would flex my foot or stand up. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I realized a lump is causing the weird pinched nerve feeling.

It's pretty big. bigger than a pea. probably like 4 peas together? It's hard to tell. it's like a swollen triangle shaped lump.

The drs will sort it out. They can take a specimen under a local anaesthetic or drain it off. It is probably a simple ganglion.

It sounds like a ganglion. Have you googled the signs of a ganglion?

The drs eetc do care about you as well as the baby! You are very important. You  are about to become a mum!

Tell me is this your first baby? I ask not to pry but because I used to be a midwife and am  therefore professionally but genuinely interested .

Yes I have. I google everything too much. I feel like if it was a ganglion it should've popped by now, i've been messing with the lump so much. I just don't know if i can wait two months to know what it is. I'm scared I won't even live to give birth. And yes it's my first baby

Of course you will live to see your baby and also see the little thing grow up. Ganglions do not pop just like that. They can disappear but some do not and have to be drained so my dr told me three weeks ago!

In fact I am going to ring him up next week to arrange for the damn thing to be drained!!frown

A lot of first time  mums to  be, we call them primagravidas are overly anxious. That is why as midwives we tell expectant mums not to listen to old wives tales!

You will be fine during labour. You will produce a lovely luittle baby then everything else will fall into place. I have seen it happen so  many times honestly. Of course you feel anxious because you are  bordering onto a new experience in your life. It is also  exciting .

You have a lot  to look forward  to.

      Take care.

Well you will not have that long to wait now that is a blessing.

Meanwhile please try to distract yourself. The lump on your foot really does sound like a ganglion. The drs would not have left you if they felt the lump was malignant. trust me. Trust the drs please.

Are u booked in for a hospital delivery? Most expectanct Mums are theese days.

      Best xx

I posted a picture of the lump if you didn't see it. But i'll try not to worry about it. And yes i'm delivering at a hospital

    • Posted

I did not see the picture. I am sure drs would have done something about this ifthey felt it was malignant. One can also have a calcified ganglion if so these do show up on an x ray.

You will be alright. Is the real anxiety connected to the thought of giving birth or coping post partum I wonder? These are normal worries no matter how many children one has and can  be also addressed by the midwives and the obstetrician whose care you are under. They will help you too..

Every mother to be feels concerned about the impending birth no matter how many times they have given birth.

Hospital deliveries are notoriously very safe and you will be very carefully monitored and there are a lot of  people out there to reassure you.

      RElaxation classes help.

Have you been to any or received any information at all about these?

I'm not worried about giving birth at all. I'm worried about not living long enough to give birth. It just doesn't feel like a coincidence that I have lump appear after having all these other cancer symptoms rolleyes
