I get hot flashes all the time. It started about 18 months ago. In the beginning it was mostly during anxiety attacks, but then it just kind of weasled it's way into the rest of my life. I get them every day now, and they last between 10-50 minutes. I'll usually use an ice pack to get them to pass. They make me feel shaky, nauseous, dizzy and detatched from my sorroundings.

I've tested all the thyroid related stuff, and one of them was a bit low (*10), I think it was T4? Anyway, the doctor said that it shouldn't be causing this, and that even if it was, it wasn't drastic enough that they'd medicate it.

It's only been getting worse, to the point where it's a real obstacle in my everyday life.

I have autism and anxiety, and take Setralin for the latter, if that's of any importance?

Can anyone tell my what's going on? According to the internet I'm going through menopause, but that seems unlikely...

It seems like all the hallmarks of menopause. I started to get them when i was 40 & THANK GOD MY PERIODS STOPPED FOR GOOD!!

But at 14???? Thats very strange Have you considered whether it might be hereditary ( in your family)

You. should be having the usual teenage bug bears- the starting of your periods ( i started them at 14)

Try asking family members to see if there is history
