I'm 16, barely go out as my friends live far away and we sit on Xbox and drink lots of fizzy drinks like energy drinks, I have recently started having slight chest pains and when I go to sleep I lie down and can hardly catch my breath, I think I'm going to fall asleep and never wake up again... I don't want this to happen sad I always think of the worst possible outcome, I always think that I need to look on the Internet and when I do I find things like heart attacks and it scares me and I panic and my heart races and I think I'm going to have a heart attack... I need help, I've asked my mum to go to the doctors...

If you think you need to go to the doctors, go. It will definitely help you mentally at least, try cut down on the fizzy drinks and energy drinks, you know too many are bad for your health! please try go to the doctors, if your mum brushes it off go alone or if you want some support try talking to someone you trust and ask them to come with you!

Cameron this is a well known side affect caused by energy drinks in young people under 18 years (from studies) and these disruptions can be bad for cardiac health. Palpitations happen even with small doses (such as one can daily) in kids of 12, so cut right down, drink some water when you're thirsty and you should improve markedly. Good to have this sort of scare young so that you can grow well. The fizzy drinks also usually contain phosphoric acid which dissolves the enamel on your teeth, as well as undermining the integrity of your bones by essentially 'dissolving' the growing bone matrix so leading to osteoporosis (yes the old ladies disease). Please stop buying into the commercialism of water by supporting the manufacturers of the fancy fizz. They're making too much money destroying our health! Water is the way forward!!!

Thanks, I've been drinking loads of water recently and it's starting to get better but it my breathing is getting better too but sometimes at night time I have to get lots of deep breathes but I think it's just because I think about it because when I'm distracted by going walking which I've been doing recently too it's completely fine and I feel amazing.
