I'm afraid of getting stroke

Hi,
I'm only 23. I'm suffering from anxiety for a year now. Whenever I think about anxiety and how my body feels, I get afraid of it. My mind is always thinking what if I suddenly collapse or get a stroke and things like that. As a results I feel wired sensation on my body, like my chest gets heavy, shortness of breath etc. I can't even sleep at night, it's always there back in my mind.
Any advice for me? Can anxiety cause stroke or any fatal problem?

I am sorry that you are going through this.
But remember this, anxiety and all the weird symptoms it brings, CAN NOT and will not cause anyone to have a stroke or anything else that is fatal!I have had anxiety for over 40 years and have had many symptoms on and off from anxiety! My symptoms started when I was in my 20s and I did think I had something terrible like a terrible disease but I never did.
The weird sensations you are getting are just from the anxiety. Sometimes a lot of adrenaline is released when we are anxious and it causes some of the crazy symptoms. It eventually wears off.
my suggestion to you is to try and relax your mind as much as you can. go for a nice walk outside, sit and just watch nature, laugh with family and friends, watch a funny movie,. The worst thing you can do is sit around and think about your symptoms because they can get worse or hang around for a long time.
What I do is I turn on some great meditations on YouTube for anxiety. They are very soothing and I fall asleep before they are even done. They are very encouraging also. There are hundreds of meditations on there! I do this every night and I have a great sleep.
and when you get shortness of breath, there’s also short meditation for proper breathing with anxiety and it really makes a difference! When you get the breathing controlled you will feel so much more relaxed!
SO, you are going to be OK!
The symptoms of anxiety are not the problem. The problem is the unmanaged anxiety that causes the symptoms. So if you can get the anxiety under better control, the symptoms will diminish or go away altogether.
If you’re having problems getting anxiety under control, speaking with a counselor can be very helpful!
I do a virtual counseling appointment once a week and I really look forward to it! They can help you with this.
I do hope this helped you a little bit. If you have any other questions or concerns, please keep using this site because we all care very much here! Take care ❤❤❤
