I'm all worried now

Posted , 2 users are following.

Just been prescribed 10mg Simvastatins by my doctor, following some recent blood checks revealed my cholestrol was 6.4

After getting on the web to check what they are all about, I found this site. I can see why the chemist said \"watch out for muscle cramps with these\" when I picked them up.

I wonder how long it will be before I know I'm going to be ok with these?

I'm 45 BTW, a bit over weight \"about a stone\"

    I have an update.

After taking these for 3 weeks and having an upset stomach EVERY morning, the Doc & myself agreed it would be a good idea to stop taking them.

He also reckoned that if these particular Statins upset me, then others probably would too???

I was not given any more advice on what to do about my levels either?

Less time on the toilet is cool though. :D

I have just picked up my repeat prescription from the doctors and found that my prescription has been changed from Lipitor Atrovastatin to Simvastatin. After inquiring as to why, I was told that the PCT was enforcing this because of cost! I am diabetic and was put on statins because my blood cholesterol readings were 5.2.

Having just read the reviews on this site about this drug, I am now horrified at this cost cutting exercise and the effect that it could have on my life. I hold down a full time, highly stressful, management post which I enjoy but need to be fully fit for and the thought of possibly experiencing some of these side effects is really worrying me.

I am due to take my first new tablet on Saturday. How long did it take for users to start experiencing the side effects?
