I'm anyone in or was in a similar dilemma

I've had an exposure to hsv2 and also had the symptoms. igG negative at 42 weeks post. also I did the western blot at 34 weeks, now do I trust these results or go with what I felt. has anyone tested beyond at say 1 year and has got a positive result. I've read so much conflicting info on the bloodtest and inaccuracies I'm not sure what to believe at this point. I'm starting to see why they don't regularly test for this and it's probably the reason for the virus spreading like wildfire.

you could retest after a year but if u have had a negative at 42 weeks im pretty sure that would b ok as most of the time its detected at 12/16 weeks i mean does it not come a point were u have to start accepting that the result is negative

if u dont trust the accuracy of the test at 42 weeks is there any point testing again at a year will u accept the results if its negative ??

thanks for the reply kim I would just trust science at that point, I just need to stop reading up on this so much. many people who test positive may of had more exposures for all we kno. I've read on medhelp alone many cases like this but again I'm gonna stop reading. I made a big mistake and I have someone to protect is my problem if it wasn't for that it wouldn't bother me as much. thanks again.

I've replied to your comment. idk why it says they're waiting for approval. not sure if u see what I see but I want to trust these results basically. just not so sure right now.

Hi. just felt the burning general discomfort and lower back pains, drs say move on but can't explain further it's getting frustrating. what are your symptoms and how long has it been from the exposure for you. I felt better with western blot results but again I read conflicting results and it's easy for them to tell you that you're in that small percentage group that doesn't make antibodies.

      hi tone,

i thought i was infected 2nd of january. starting 4 days later

i got all symptoms: low fevers, headache, tingling and musle twitching, swollen lymf nodes, low stomach and back pain, and a veryyy irritated groin that looked like folliculitis but itched very much. especially after shaving. this keeps coming back. plus, later also tingling mouth area and weird pimples around my mouth. others can even see the tingles.

never had anything like this before, was always super healthy.

so: everything except for the real ulcers. so they could never be tested. had 4 blood tests and I was super stressed at that time.

      results:

      1. igm/igg negative in january
      2. igm positive/igg negative in april
      3. igm positive/igg negative in june
      4. igm/igg negative in september

      its soooo confusing.

      my hypotheses:

      • I have it but my body doesnt make antibodies. question is: how can you figure this out? is this possible? does anybody know?
      • It is internal shingles (herpes zoster reactivation) triggered by all the stress
      • Its a new mutated undiscovered herpes virus (that results in different antibodies and more looks like itchy folliculitis)

its mind wreching. I really need to know because ive been so ill after all of this started.
