It's been 15 days since my last sexual encounter and the one I believe I might have gotten genital herpes from... A day after I started feeling really uncomfortable down there pain like it was dry and alot of friction was happening type of pain from the very front of my vagina to my anus I was freaking out and went to the doctor who saw nothing wrong but the pain kept happening I looked everyday for any signs of lesions and nothing... Because of the pain I was sure it was prodome but I've read that it could only last up to a week before lesions appear well two gynos later both saying I don't have anything unusual down there and one gave me a pill for a yeast infection. The pain is beginning to stop slowly. So this is where I'm confused I've Read that the first out break is the worst but I have no lesions and that it last the longest but I'm already feeling better.. other than the pain I've been feeling nothing else like swollen nodes flu symptoms have occurred can this really be genital herpes or something else... I will be getting tested soon and again at 12 weeks even tho my doctor thinks I shouldn't I will insist can someone please help me calm my anxiety

I forgot to mention that my partner says he doesn't have anything but I've read that people who have it don't always know... So I'm scared I've also texted for herpes 1 and 2 a few months ago and came back negative for 2 so if I do end up having it and I pray I don't I'll know who it was

If he's ever had a coldsore, he's got HSV-1. You're right, the majority of people have some type of herpes and don't know. Don't panic is my best advice! Herpes is so so common and you may not even have it, and if you do it is not abnormal. Stay strong x

I mean if you don't have any lesions or sores or anything what's the big fuss about the only thing you can really manage to do is get blood work done because I don't think they can swab you unless you have sores or something to thoroughly swab

Not at all ...
Been on this forum for a long while . Way before I got diagnosed with herpes ... back when I use to look down on people for having these type of diseases and never have I ever heard of someone having this.. and not especially automatically thinking of herpes ...
I have herpes and I don't even witness what you are talking bout I defintely think you are over reacting .. but bloood work can defintely be done for you .
I seriously don't think you have it tho.

Our bodies do some Crazy stuff, i don't even know when or with who HSV-2 came into my life. However, after each new partner i was SURE that i had contracted something because my mind was seeking changes. Being tested for everything would help put your mind at ease. In the mean time seek out as much information as possible so you will go to your appointment with the right questions to ask, seeking answers to what you might have. If that makes sense ?

It might not be herpes, it might be something else if you haven't got any lesions. It is also very hard to be tested for herpes if you have nothing to swab. Go to a sexual health clinic to be tested (get tested for everything, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV... everything just to be sure) these people are specialists and are more likely to know more than your gp. Explain all your symptoms, let them have a look and test you and you may reach a conclusion.
Hope everything turns out ok :]

I know I'm getting tested on the 24th for everything that would put me at around one month after exposure but for HIV and herpes that would be too soon if it's a new infection right? Also I just started my period yesterday and all the pain i had was gone? Is that normal for gh?

I'm not sure about the period as I don't have them due to contraception, but the fact that the pain is gone doesn't sound like gh.
If I'm honest what you described sounds like some kind of skin irritation, did you use a condom? You could be allergic or sensitive to the type you used or you could be allergic or sensitive to the semen of person you had sex with! It could be a number of things but it does not sound like gh to me especially if you're feeling better already.
As for the testing, I have no clue! I thought you could get tested whenever and it would show up if you have whatever (except herpes is harder to test) but I'm still not sure, sorry!
