You don't give any details. What have you done so far? How can we help you?

He was hospitalized in August for c-diff. He also went into kidney failure with it. They started hemo dialysis . A catheter was put in his chest for the dialysis. The next day he was released from hospital to go to rehab to get therapy since he lost strength in hospital. Upon arriving at rehab, the nurse saw bleeding through bandage of catheter. She was angry that the hospital released him in that condition. They send him right back to hospital through ER. Then began a nightmare. He was back and forth to ER for a week. I tried everything to get it fixed. It was all a bad dream. Only after I blew up in ER was it fixed. A whole week of my father suffering, me being called from work. My dad unable to do his rehab and eat his meals BECOUSE HE Was in ER all the time. Then the insurance denied his rehab which led to 3 appeals. much lost work, stress etc. He managed to get through all with his determination and faith in God. The next time he got sick he just had been through so much and was worried about the verdict of the appeal , he couldn't fight anymore. I took him to hospice. I found out that we had won the appeal. 2 days later he passed. He was relieved and was able to let go. I have bills that were incurred from the hospitals errors as well as terrible memories.

Have you discussed this with a medical malpractice attorney?

A couple attorney "assistants" returned my call. Basically most attorneys have people screen before meeting with people. Both times I was told that they would not take my case but I should try another lawyer. After I read up on it, it seems that most lawyers will not take a case that is worth less than 50,000. The work it takes to get experts and do all the work costs more than the case is worth. It is hard becouse it isn't that much money but to me it is. I understand how the lawyer would see it, though. I'm in a tough situation. It is about money but more about the principle . I want justice in my father's name

Keep on looking and don't give up. Your case in my opinion is worth a lot more.

Thank you for that. It means a lot. I did go to the patient advocate with pictures and the story. She was appalled and told me "in 40 years of nursing I have never heard a story as bad as your". I talked to her when he was in the hospital before he died. I never received a response. just as I was going to contact her- I got sympathy card from her! she wrote a long message as if were were friends! signed it love. I got a big box of cards from friends and family. - I don't need a sympathy card from her, I want a letter as to what she did about filing my grievance. maybe she did me a favor becouse I don't think that looks good for the hospital

Patient advocates work for the hospital and will not do anything against their employer. If there is a legal aid center in your community you might try them.

I totally agree. the hospital signs their paycheck. they tell you things that you want to hear.at least I can say that I went to her when I pursue further action.
