I’m Desperate for answers Please

I’m a 22 year old male, and for years on end I’ve had problems with sleep. Ever since high school and having some multiple weed induced panic attacks my sleep has never been the same. I was prescribed some couple Anxiety and depression meds like fluoxetine, Wellbutrin, Citalopram, Buspirone. And i really believe they threw off my brain chemistry for sleep. I can be in bed for 10 hours and sleep a full 10 hours but everyday wake up with brain fog, Sore muscles, 0 focus, and be very upset. At this point the only things giving me energy are my meals. I excercise daily and am in great physical health, meditate, and i dont drink caffeine or eat practically any sugar. When i was a child i could sleep for 8 hours and actually bend my knees up and kick myself out of bed i would be so energized. Im really starting to think and accept this as normal because its been so long which makes me feel helpless.  Please i just need some sort of insight or people relating that have ways to coop with it.

I'm sure it's caused by the resultant side effects of all the medications you're taking. Those mind-altering medications have unpleasant side effects.

Based on your described symptoms, it sounds like what you have is Fibromyalgia. Which is really just a constellation of symptoms with no known cause, or more likely, different causes specific to each sufferer.

If I were to suggest a possible cause in your situation I'd say you probably desensitized yourself to orexin, which is your body's wakefulness hormone, with all of that pot smoking.

When you smoke pot excessively, your brain releases massive amounts of orexin into your synapses. Which is the primary cause for "the munchies". Your neurons protect themselves against this release by downregulating the orexin receptor, making the neuron insensitive to orexin.

Being insensitive to it is great for sleeping, not so great when you want to wake up.

You want to resensitize yourself so that the small amount your body makes is enough to wake you up when sleep is through.

I suggest a two week trial period of complete abstinence from smoking marijuana, or even being around pot smoke. If I'm right, you will initially begin to feel your symptoms getting worse. That means it's working. If you haven't been around pot for more than a month already then you might suggest a temporary course of an orexin antagonist like Suvorexant to your GP. Again, expect initially worsening symptoms.

Also, if your sugar embargo is a particularly strict one, you could be making yourself worse. The brain and nervous system need SOME sugar to energize themselves.
