Try not to let the dyslexia comment get to you. I don't know if you do have it or not but its not that bad if you do. My partner has dyslexia and I honestly wouldn't of guessed. Yes his hand writing is poor but readable some spellings he gets wrong but who doesn't occasionally spell some words wrong and he uses calculator for difficult sums but I'd say he's as quick as me doing sums in his head.

I can do advanced algerbra but still need a calculator for sums. I can't do anything more than a basic some in my head smile

Maybe they were trying to be helpful but it came out wrong when they spoke to you? I don't know but you should see my hand writing lol honestly my 11 year old daughter has better writing and spelling than me, fact! I don't mind though, I am what I am and you are too. So what if your writings not to 'their' standard, lol who cares?! I don't and neither should you. Other peoples opnions are just that 'opinions' not facts.

    Hi there,

What were they actually stating about your writing, what I am trying to get at, is do they actually know what Dyslexic means. There are many disorders than affect handwriting, spelling, etc. You could have fired back at them with "Why are you a Neurologist Consultant all of a sudden?" - But, that's me not you.

I deal with people all the time, many people try and pull the wool over my eyes but they fail everytime.

I suffer from many disorders Dyslexia is not one of them, but I have met people whom are Dyslexic, it can affect people in many ways. Even if you are Dyslexic, it is nothing to be ashamed of, my brother in law is Dyslexic, yet to look at him and his job position would make people think they were totally thick. He is an Area Manager for a large hydraulic system product designing company, in the UK and Germany, and has more certificates than I have seen by anyone! So, don't let people that are idiots and not qualified get you down.

If you don't mind me asking what sort of work do you do anyway? I am just being nosey!wink

    Regards,

    Les.

I'm a supervisor in an office, but with a new boss, I'm doing more management. It now involves writing and takes me so long, I have diffcultly writing what I mean. It just made feel stupid, they are aware of my depression and anxiety, that's hard enough to deal with, don't wNt another label. The only thing is it would be hard to get rid of me, as Ive not taken time off, just a bit slower.

Well, you're in a good position for a start! The person that said that derogatory comment, are they in positions above or below you? Now, if I showed you my writing you would think what the hell does that say, and guess what I couldn't tell you either! I have dystonic disorders, you have probably heard of people say that they get "writers cramp", that is actually slang, in medical terms its called Torsion Dystonia in the wrist, many people have it and don't even know it is an actual medical condition.

Have you ever seen a specialist about your conditions at all? Depression and Anxiety are known to be together, but there are conditions that these are just part of a main condition. A normal doctor may not pick up the connections, but there are specialists that can.

Labels... If I listed everything thats wrong with me, you would be shocked, yet I'm married with 3 children (all grown up now through!). I've had cancer, and beat it, nearly died twice in surgery for part of my intestines turned gangrene, 2 major operations - 10 months to recover! And neither of them are anywhere near my main problems! Perhaps I am just lucky, but I'm on over 30+ tablets a day, 6 botox injectons every 10 weeks!! That's what my life is like, doctors, paramedics, surgeons, consultants, etc... And, its been like that for over 30 years!!!

Yes, I have been through depression, anxiety and panic attacks!!

      Regards,

      Les.
