Just got back from my three month visit with the surgeon who cleared me for another year.  He doesn’t want to see me unless something drastic happens.

Hi Ducksoup,  Congrats and good luck. I was cleared at 9 weeks and was hoping my consultant would do the other hip in a couple of months but wants to see me in Dec. I didn't question why, because I trust him completely and the thought of not having another op sooner than later was quite relieving. My other hip although looking bad wasn't givng me as much pain as the operated hip.

Great news Duck. Now you make sure nothing happens, but still have fun and live life to the fullest everyday.

Fantastic news. I had wondered when surgeons clear patients. I'm sure it must depend on his/her plan of follow-up.

Hope to see you continuing to comment on discussions here.

    DS-

Congrats on the release.  Hope you enjoy the freedom from pain.  Have a consultation with a surgeon this morning, a second opinion, although I know I need the surgery, this surgeon comes well recommended and I am interested in his evaluation/assessment for success.  Keep an eye out for those curbs and speed bumps when you're on your bike.

Same here, signed off this week (week 12). Walking unaided now but I still have soreness around the hip area, do you have that? Also swelling around the ankle and foot is slow to go.

Walking unaided in the flat since week 2 but outside since week 4.  I too have some soreness around the area of incision but it is generally after exercise.  I was fortunate in that I had minimal swelling.
