    Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by premium rate? Unless you mean Enhanced? If so then whether you can claim Enhanced daily living or mobility will totally depend on how your conditions affect you against the PIP descriptors.

Putting in for a worsening condition is very risky unless you completely understand the descriptors and what they mean. A worsening of condition doesn't mean you're automatically entitled to a higher award.

You could go on to lose everything you already have. You should get some face to face advice before reporting a worsening of condition.

hi i was told when your receiving pip any rate you should be entilled to a premium as well so when i called and asked them they said as claim was granted ages ago and not from APRIL 2019 j wouldnt be entilled to it but i told her i had a hip replacement they said i should of done change cicumstances but im scared to do this as i could loose my benifit

I personally don't think a hip replacement would warrant a claim for PIP as its an operation to improve quality of life not to worsen it, also hip replacement recovery is less than the time required to claim PIP.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, can I ask what was your original claim for DLA based upon and how long ago it was and your age.

      Katrina,

Ok, i think you're talking about the disability premiums paid when claiming certain means tested benefits.

Which other benefits apart from PIP do you claim?

What PIP award do you have?

Do you live alone or classed as living alone?

Does anyone claim carers allowance for looking after you?

      Please answer all these questions.

Thanks for answering that. As you don't claim any other means tested benefit like ESA/JSA or Income support then the disability premium (SDP) isn't possible to claim.

If you're claiming working tax credits then you maybe able to claim the disability element of this. If you're not claiming this then unfortunately you won't be able to start a new claim because all areas are now a full universal credit area and there's no disability premiums paid with UC.
