I'm having chest pains and dizziness for about 3 weeks and I feel I'm going to die.

Hi,

I've had this chest pain for about 3 weeks and pain in my ribs and where my heart area is. I've stopped smoking hookah 4-5 weeks ago and I've been smoking for about 8 months, I sometimes feel that I'm going to die because I get dizzy a lot everyday, having tinglings in my hand and legs sometimes also in my head (where the brain is), and feeling my chest is heavy and feeling that it's hard to breathe, and I do get a lot of headaches.

Any suggestions?

P.S: I'm 16Y

Hi darl it sounds like anxiety. Try to take deep breathes and listening to some music. It's a awful feeling but hopefully will pass. I get a lot of dizziness and my chest always feels tight but I ignore it and get on with it. Good luck darl x

Research costochondritis - I thought I had a heart problem but I have very tender ribs. Press down hardish on your ribs and if it hurts then the pain is your ribs.

Obviously to the doctors first if you're that concerned smile

    (Update)

I've been having heart attack symptoms like dizziness, pain in left arm and left hand palm and having neck, jaw pain. I've been to the doctor last week said heart is normal. I've been to chest doctor made X-ray and said it's normal.

Symptoms of a panic attack are very similar to symptoms of a heart attack, but panic attacks are way more common. I get like this too and it's so scary, hope you're okay!

      Hi,

Yes panic attcks are similar to heart attacks but panic attack symptoms don't say that having left hand and neck pain is it panic attack, but it says in the heart attack symptoms.. I really hope I'm not having a heart attack because it's too early!

There are lots of surprising symptoms of anxiety that leave many people convinced they have a health problem because no one tells you it could be anxiety, I've had it a lot myself. I've had chest pain a lot and I think it's due to anxiety.

Also, seeing as you know the symptoms of a heart attack and are worried about having one, it's entirely possible that your brain is making you feel those symptoms as they're what you expect to feel.

How have you been in the time since you last commented? Hope you're feeling okay! biggrin

I experience the same anxiety symptoms as you. At the begining it was hard not to worrh but as time goes by you will be able to spot 'patterns' it sounds like everyone says the same thing but the best thing to do is to try an 'relax'. I find anxiety apps on my phone very useful to help me relax or if you have a partner or a close friend that could rub your back your back or massage your hands it sounds very weird but they are very soothing and help you relax and i would also have a look at CBT therapy its veeb very helpful for me to control my anxiety. Hope any of this can help
