    Hi Gillian

What your feeling is completely normal and almost everyone who suffers with anxiety feels like this at some point. I know it's very hard to calm yourself down in this situation but you need to try, by calming yourself down it will bring your heart beat down and will make you feel a bit better.

how long have you been on these tablets for? The reason I ask is because if you have just started taking them your body will need time to adjust.

People who do not suffer with anxiety do not understand that it can affect your day to day life. have you spoken with your manager about this? It may be a good idea to get them on board and maybe decrease your workload for the time being. I've often sat at work crying my eyes out because of my anxiety.

I know when your feeling the last thing you want to do is to exercise but it really does help even going for a walk or doing something at home.

I have to keep telling myself this feeling won't last forever, Im week 3 into citralopram and almost everyday ive felt the same way as you.

Maybe you could go back to your doctors and get some advice from them as it may be that you need a higher dose of medication or lower. Hope you feel better soon x

      Hi Natasha,

Thanks for replying, nice to know I'm not alone.

I have been suffering for a year. I started on citalopram in September but wasn't helping so changed to venlafaxine in November. I can get a few weeks of feeling normal then the anxiety creeps back again.

My work are aware of my anxiety as ended up having to take 6 weeks off last year due to it and they were great, let me come back only for half days and build myself up to full time again. It's just such an effort to get up, ready and out the door when feeling like this.

I went swimming with my boyfriend yesterday, he is a great support. Unfortunately one of these days today where i feel so sick and just want to shut myself away and cry. I'm going to phone doctor tomorrow.

I hope you are ok, it's a horrible thing to go through and so many people don't understand.

      Xxx

Same here. I've had panic attacks in the past. (Years ago) this new set started May 18th and I just can't kick it. The last 2 days hv been horrible. Now if I'm outside to long the heat makes me feel nauseous and faint. I've cried more the last few days than I have in a year. I hv chest tightness or uncomfortable feeling in my chest all the time. I've lost 7 pounds because I hv no appetite. I finally went to the er yesterday and everything was clear. They gave me 1 mg of kolonipin but I don't think it help one bit. I take venlaflaxin 150 mg and have for 14 yrs. I don't know what to do. I just want my life back. I hv 3 kids. (24,19&16) and 2 grandkids that I like to do stuff with but this has totally hindered all going and enjoying life. It is a small comfort having others who feel the same. Prayers we all can be normal same day.

Gillian - have you been to your GP ? you didn't mention it. Maybe you could even have a telephone consultation with him/her. My surgery offers that. You need professional help. You are obviously suffering badly, and I wish you well.
