I'm having this Cold sore and it's not healing.

I got the cold sore few days back. I never had cold sore before in my life and never heard of it. Now it's the pain and blood spot on the sore is making me worried if sore is infected. I use abreva cream and it's not helping. I have the pulsation feeling on the sore when cream is used. I used 3/4 times a day. Am I going anything wrong ?

Have you tried anti viral medication. It to be taken the minute you feels a twinge. There are new Ned's out check with you doctor for Topicals but RX.

Also a numbing Gell can help too!😊

Doc prescribed Valtrex(Valcyclovir). 1Gram tab twice a day. I took for a day. The twitching has reduced but the pulsation is there and not a good feeling!

I use abreva and what's the numbing gel? Any topical ?

That sounds like you are doing all the right things and probably will have to wait it out. Unfortunately this disease has it own timeline. Some have it longer others shorter.

oh I just remembered another thing that helps Heeling. Zinc, Desitin will help dry it out and keep it from spreading. That white stuff used for baby. It works wonders and use nightly see if it gives you some relief.👍

Oh forgot. Numbing gell is RX from doctor. Very similar to what dentists use.🎄??🌟🎅

no, you are doing everything correctly.

It will take about ten days to completely heal.

You could ask your physician for Zovirax Ointment

Doc prescribed the Zovirax cream but that is really expensive. Way to much to buy now. Pharmacy said it's $500 for a tube. Instead Doc said continue using abreva.

Is zovirax cream is same as abreva ?
