I'm hoping ive been misdiagnosed with this condition but my partner of 4yrs hasn't had any symptoms

For the past four years, Ive only had one sexual partner and just this week my test results for herpes simplex virus has came back positive. I'm really confused on how is it possible if my partner hasn't had any symptoms and I've been only having sex with him. About 2weeks ago now I experienced really bad irritation of itching and burning following was a few sores, the sores would go away within a day if I didn't bother them, mostly on my inner labia and my clit hood(which inflamed) tjere was no odor or major discharge but we self diagnosed with smegma. When I went to the doctor she gave me pills and I soaked in warm water within a few days my symptoms vanished. Is there any way I have been misdiagnosed?

Depends how you were tested. Also, it's entirely possible for someone to carry herpes and infect others without ever having any symptoms themselves.

She took samples from the blisters. I tested positive for vagnitis but everything else came back negative.

If you were swabbed when the blisters were still pretty fresh and the sample tested negative for herpes, then that's a good indicator that it's not herpes.

Did your partner have the test?  no symptoms do not mean he did not infect the virus.  Most of the infected people do not have any symptoms.
