I'm loosing weight in chunks, is this strange?

Hi! I've lost about twenty pounds over the last month and a half, I dropped from 215 to 195lbs. but as opposed to loosing it steadily over time I'll lose about tenth of a pound each day or so and then suddenly lose an entire pound over night, I even lost three pounds in one week in the middle of August.

Is this normal? I don't think it's water weight; I've been consistently drinking 32 to 64 ounces a day. I'm loosing weight by using a 500 calorie reduction with daily exercise. I'm not tracking my macros. Please help?

my advice would be to stop getting weighed every day but just do it once per wk at the same time (usually first thing in the morning after going to the loo and before you get dressed) - to get weighed every day can lead to an unhealthy obsession and of crs you are going to lose wgt at various amounts depending on what is actually in your stomach, bowel and bladder at the time of weighing and this will always vary on a daily basis - to get weighed wkly would give you a more true picture as to how steady your wgt loss is - it is not unusual in my experience to lose wgt at differing rates and to lose 3lbs in one wk is not unusual either going from my own track record  - generally speaking the first month or so sees a quicker wgt loss and then it slows down over time depending on how much you need to lose - the last bit of wgt to come off often takes triple the length of time compared to earlier efforts and wgt loss - I have no idea what macros are but as long as you are eating a healthy combination of food along with an exercise regime I would say this is the best way to go - good luck with the rest of your wgt loss and hope you make it to your target wgt and then manage to maintain (which is the hardest part)

One or two pound swings in weight can easily be explained by

bowel movements, bladder emptying, or sweating related to exercise or heat.

I myself can lose 4 pounds in a day playing basketball and gain it back that night.

If you want an accurate indication of weight, check the weight in the morning

right after awakening and before eating or drinking.
