I’m making myself ill

I suffer with severe anxiety, and I have accepted that it’s something I am going to have to live with. But for 4 months now I have been getting daily headaches and I have literally convinced myself I have a brain tumour. I wake with a headache everyday, I get dizzy spells and at nighttime I get a numb right leg a bit like pins and needles. The worst thing I can do I know is google my symptoms, but I have. I’ve been to the doctors, dentist and opticians and they have all told me everything seems fine. My doctor has now referred me to a neurologist but the appointment is months away and I don’t know what to do sad I’m probably worrying over nothing but I don’t know how to stop and it’s probably making things worse! Can anyone give me any reassurance?! I don’t like being left on my own!

Hi shan. Sorry to hear you're in pain. I wish i was going to give you answer and cure for your headaches. I have suffered with headaches for almost every day for years. Doctors don't care anymore. It takes up too much of their time to talk at length about problems. All I've ever been told was to keep well hydrated. I've been on painkillers for all those years. A doctor told me it could be the painkillers that are causing the headaches and to stop taking them and see if they go away. I struggled to do this for 2 weeks and then gave in . Just couldn't stand the pain. One doctor sent me for blood tests for fibromyalgia. That came back ok. I have cervical spondylosis which gives me neck pain and the doctor said the headaches could be radiating to the head from my neck. Guess what he told me to take painkillers. It was the easiest option for him. So that's what i do. Around the clock every day. I wish i didn't have to, they make me so tired. I can never go out and drink alcohol. For years I've thought I've got a brain tumor, especially as my mum died of an aneurysm on the brain, but the doctor assured me i haven't. No scans or anything. I also get a numb right leg. This could also in my case be related to the spine. I'm sorry this probably isn't of any help to curing your headaches. I just wanted you to know you're not on your own. Three cheers for our wonderful doctors !!! Best wishes.
