I'm needing to loose some weight

Posted , 7 users are following.

I really need to loose some weight and start doing some exercise but all I feel like doing is sitting on the sofa eating

I did loose some weight on slim fast but then had all my meds changed then increased and now all I feel like doing is eating

I always feel so hungry

Has anyone successfully lost weight and kept it off?

If so how did you achieve it

What exercise do people do?

Besides the fibro and I guess due to the fibro I have become so unfit

I feel like all my get up and go has got up and gone and taking my will power with it

Any advice and tips would be great

    Hi Sarah,

i feel the same too, but I joined slimming world and enjoyed the company plus the healthy eating, lost 2-stone 7lbs, in a year, could have lost more but doing no excercise etc etc I was well pleased.

    note to self

must rejoin and keep going and staying.

    good luck, don't lose heart.

    Hi Barb

I belonged to slimming world before fibro and also lost over 2st but when I began to struggle and started putting the weight back on I didn't find them very helpful or understanding so I left

I'm a comfort eater so that's not very helpful either

    Sarah,

can you try another group,  it's also good to get out and about to chat with others, not just about weight loss, also it really does a powerful boost to dress up a bit and put on makeup.

    Give it a try.

am going to take my own advice and rejoin and try again.

    Wishing you good luck.

Hiya Sarah, try googling Paleo,it's awesome and you don't get hungry because it's just everything that your body requires, bonus is you will loose weight if you have any to loose. It's great for Autoimmune suffers, theres an AIP -Autoimmune Proticol too, be blessed Sarah and have a lovely day, many of us have been where you are..p😘😘💐

      Hi Christine

I have looked into the paler diet before but not any good for me as I am a vegetarian

I've found being a vegetarian it is very hard to find a diet to follow

Ok, maybe Dr Ballantyne has something for vegetarians,..it's really only high fat and low carb and nothing at all processed, including bread..I make my own out of different flour if I need it, I also use zucchini noodles and cauliflower rice etc. there's is soo much to eat, I call it a lifestyle not a diet, as soon as I'm on any sort of diet I put weight on..lol be blessed, have a lovely weekend.,😘😘😘💐

I am not a vegetarian but I do drink protein shakes that I make with plant protein by raw fit, vegetables and fruits mixed in my nitra ninja. As my diet doesnt allow for whey or soy I do use the vegan protein powders. They come in different flavors. Vanilla, chocolate and even coffee. ( I have mixed the espresso and chocolate almond milk...awesome) if you want a little pick me up.

I have done the gaps diet and it's does require me to have bone broth but wondering if you could substitute it with vegetable broth with apple cider vinegar.

I start each day by having a cup of green tea with lemon, ginger and mint. Then a cup of broth. This helps heal your stomach issues and jump starts your metabolism for the day.

    Take probiotics and digestive enzymes.

Then I will drink my fruit/vegetable shake.

Maybe an apple and some almonds for snack

Salad with protein for lunch...that could be lentils

    Green veggie drink for snack

    Broth and tea for dinner.

Going back on this diet as I did well and kept if off for awhile until I got sick and stressed out and gained it back by eating what was convenient. Last time I lost 30 lbs in 3 months and kept it off for almost a year.

I only do mild yoga stretches in the morning and night with the expertise ball to help me unwind stiff muscles.

I had to tailor the diet a bit to suit me and other health conditions but it did work.

I did SW also and lost 3 stone in 6 months with very little exercise, then had to go on steroids for another heath issue, put up a stone but still kept 2 off. I need to go back also! Definitely change groups, I found a lovely consultant who was very helpful with the Fibro then the other condition, so you should try out another group. As you know with SW, you can eat alot so could adjust for when you feel your snacking is worse (for me its night time!). I also feel it's the best one when we're so tired, as there's no counting calories or points. Best of luck with it!

I put on weight because of some of my meds and I had to stop working , don't think for one minute your going to be like twiggy you will get to a weight your body is happy with . I just kept to my meals and in between had salad or fruit , I lost 2 stone and that was over 2 years ago and Iv kept it off , I still have treats . I eat a lot of healthy food , I eat a lot of pulses I have  them for a snack , it's eating what you like and having smaller amounts your stomach gets used to it , it's not easy . I'm a size 18/20  and have been that size since I lost the weight as long as I stay this size I will be happy . It's hard to excercise I just do some stretches . You need lots of will power , Good luck
