I'm new just started lexapro for sleep anxiety trying to quit klonopin

I'm new to this group. A few months ago I took zoloft for anxiety and low mood depression. It was awful. It gave me more anxiety. I went to a different dr and she said lexapro is well tolerated and is good to help with anxiety. I started on Friday night. Took lexapro at 8. My sleep was ok. Saturday night sleep was not so good. Sunday night I took lexapro at 8 and could not sleep. About midnight I had to take .5 klonopin to get some sleep. I have done klonopin off and on since April and I only take it at night if needed. Last week I notice I have been taking it more than a few nights a week. I want to quit taking this. My biggest reason for going on lexapro is sleep anxiety and mild depression. I'm going to start taking lexapro in the morning hoping I will be able to sleep well at night. Do you all agree? Please share your experiences.

Hey,
Sorry you haven't got much sleep! Hoping it sorts itself out soon! What mg are you on?
I'm on 20mg and take my in the morning so changing to the morning might help you a bit.
Hope this helps you a little.

My doc told me to start on 5mg for a week then go to 10. I have anxiety about the side effects. What mg did you start with I assume it was lower. Did you experience increase side effects changing dose? Tomorrow I'm going to take lexapro about 8am.

I'd definitely switch to taking it in the morning.
?I have sleep anxiety, too. I've been on 15 mg of escitalopram for over 6 weeks now, and I still have insomnia some nights. I'm probably going to have to bump up to 20 mg, but I want to give the 15 mg at least another month.
?These meds take weeks and weeks to work; "they" say it takes 6-8 weeks to get the full effect in your blood stream; and whenever you up a dose, it's like starting back at square one again.
