I'm not sure if I had a type of seizure or something else??

I have Crohns Disease and sometimes suddenly get overcome by pain. This happened today, I was in extreme pain then all of a sudden I became very faint, hit the floor and started shaking vilolently and apparantly was rolling my eyes, I didn't lose consiousness completely though, I could still see and hear people just couldn't respond to them. This lasted about 10 mins then passed and I was just left in pain. This has happened twice before but I just ignored it however I'm a bit worried about it now. Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks.

    Hello rhiannon,

I think it is time you had a word with your GP and told him about these episodes.   The pain you mention, would that be in your abdomen?   First thought is Crohns related, there is a group on this site for people with Crohns and maybe a look through or putting a post on there might be enlightening.

Please don't ignore this any longer,  have your self checked over,  do you think yourself it may be the Crohns,  or do you have other health issues as well ?

I hope the pain eases and you do not have a worrying weekend,  then first thing Monday make a phone call to your Dr's surgery,  it would be better to get peace of mind and I am sure your Dr would agree.

    Take care of yourself

    Regards Jessie.

I agree with Jessie, you really should go sooner, rather than later to see you GP.  It could be something entirely different going on.

    Good luck and be well.

Rhiannon, you do appear to be describing a fit/seizure  and should see your GP sooner rather than later.

There is a lot on this website and they do say, that if this is your first, you should be seen within 14 days

There are other pages too but I haven't listed them

Good luck Rhiannon, it could be caused by anything but you need to be seen by a doctor

    Hi Rhiannon,

The seizure you describe sounds much like a "Functional Episode", while this is not a true epileptic seizure you should consult your doctor as soon as possible. Your doctor will probably refer you to see a Consultant Neurologist, whom will give you a better understanding of what you are suffering from.

I only know this from numerous seizures I suffer from, and in the past i did suffer from a similar issue to Crohns Disease. Normally, seizures can be controlled by various medications - I have been on many over the years, and each Neurologist will prescribe you different drugs to subdue or lower the amount of seizures over a certain time.

    Regards,

    Les.
