I'm only 21 and i don't know what to do

Just turned 21. So i'll just list out my problems. Back in april or may, on a particular day i poop and when i whip my anus, i saw blood. I didn't of it much other than a tear in my colon. After that no more bleeding. Until late june that i experienced a bad flu. I thought i was hiv so i took blood test 6 weeks from exposure and it was negative. The problem is, during the bad flu i lost a lot of weight. I was 70 in april and dropped to 66-67 kg. I could see my collar bone more. So i thought it was due to the stomach pain and diarrhea. Then after eating antibiotics prescribe by my gp, everything was well in early july until mid july where i feel the same stomach pain and burping again. It came back. Up till today i have been to 4 different gp's and none of them have ever given me any medication that helps. I took probiotics and stomach wind medicine but still nothing. Just recently this week i have been pooping black tarry stools. I can't tell if it's really black but it it definitely super dark. I would poop normally in the morning looking sausage shape in brown and then later i would poop black stools that are not hard and mucousy. 2 weeks ago my weight was 66.4 kg and now i am 64.8 kg. Even though i have been eating more than usual or so i thought. I'm not excercising to lose weight. So why am i losing weight? All of this came down to black tarry stool and cancer. I'm paranoid and i'mm freaking out. I will be going to a gastro doctor in a months time. For now i sometimes have stomach pain but not all the time. And the black stool happend recently like 2-4 days ago. Please help. Could i have stomach cancer? I heard peptic ulcer cause the same symptoms.

Given your age, colon cancer is highly unlikely. Really. Not impossible, just highly, highly unlikely.  You are worrying and stressing about this- that can cause weight loss too. Keep that appointment, they will find the cause. There are so many things it could be, in the case of 'suspected cancer symptoms', trust me, Google is definitely NOT your friend! There are very few reliable online search results, and don't forget that any particular symptom can have a dozen or more causes. FYI, I had my colon cancer removed last year, and I must have had it a very long time with no symptoms at all, as it had grown very large.

Stomach pain could be trapped wind, may even be constipation. Try drinking a lot more water-  acouple of litres a day. You may find that makes a big difference.

Thanks for the quick reply shaz. I have a question though, can this be linked to stomach cancer? I don't smoke or excessively take ibuprofen or nsaids medicine. Cancer is rarely diagnosed in younger people below 25. I know those who have cancer at young age are usually the ones who have cancer at childhood. Another thing, could it be peptic ulcers? If you're unfamiliar with it then it's okay anyways smile

I'm confused Barry you said you are 70 the risk of colon cancer after age 50 increases

Black dark stools can mean a lot of different things eating black pudding ' drinking coloured juice eating beetroot etc can make your stool black but it can also be blood loss higher up the colon or digestive tract

You are doing the right thing and going to see a specialist

Explain all that you have said in the forum and in sure they will find out what causing your symptoms and get it sorted

I hope you feel better soon and stop googling as they akways say worst case scenarios
