I’m paranoid I have herpes! Please help!

One week ago i received an unprotected b*****b from someone i probably shouldn’t have. As soon as the next day i started to feel a lot of itching in my groin & scrotum area mostly, but also some on my shaft. This has been going on for 6 days now. I’ve been freaking out & doing a lot of research & learned about prodromal symptoms but it seems unusual for them to last longer than a day or two. I went to the doctor where they diagnosed me with jock itch because i play basketball multiple times a day. However, I’m still worried because they didn’t really do a thorough evaluation. About a day ago I noticed my scrotum seemed to be a little red. Also feel an unusual feeling on my penis head & don’t know how to describe it, it is not a itching, burning, or tingling feel, just something unusual. I admit it could be a self caused feeling because paranoia. I have no lesions, bumps, or rashes. Should i be worried about herpes or should i be confident that it is just jock itch? Thank you for reading!

Your best bet is to go to the sexual health clinic and have them check you, I have herpes and that's how mine started I was very itchy, itching turned into redness then the blisters came, fingers crossed it's not herpes but go get yourself double checked to be on the safe side, if it is herpes you will likely be given a course of tablets to reduce the outbreak and you are 100% better to get them sooner than later

From what i’ve read it’s too early to get a blood test done, so i’m unsure if going to a clinic would benefit me at all.

also from what i’ve read, the itching should be followed by blisters within hours up to a day. i’ve been itching for 6 days which is strange to me
