I'm sad

Just another one of those days again, I feel as though I don't have anyone to talk about my condition. Its not even an outbreak or anything messing me up. Its just that mental fight of having this hurting me. That and just being scared of it.

That's how I feel too! I haven't had an OB yet but just waiting for it to happen whenever where ever is daunting and exhausting. You are most certainly not alone. Msg me if you need to. I'm new to this too and am not sure what to expect but so far it's mind blowing by far. It's so surreal at.times it feels like we are living in a parallel universe... 8th I get in my head a lot too

You've never had an outbreak ???

How long have you had this disease for ?

Everyone feels like this . I feel like this sometimes and then I cheer up and then I feel down.. It's just a lot of feelings and emotions

I'm up and down too. No OB yet but sadly I have had ALL the other symptoms besides that. The flu like symptoms, aches, lower back pain, headaches, sore muscles and throat, discharge, tingling in vaginal and anal area.. and it seems to have done a number on my skin on my face so I'm praying I don't break out on my face. Omg I would just die. . I was infected mid January (oh if I could turn back time) I can't get suppressive meds until the doc can swab me when I do have an OB so I'm basically just living in limbo. Sometimes ok and sometimes not.

Yeah some days are definitely better than others. Like I said its just that mental thing, I also haven't had an outbreak yet so I'm just waiting for it.

Unfortunately, I can't remember everyone's background, but there's a chance neither you nor the OP have herpes. You can test by IgG without symptoms at 3 months, even now most likely, rather than worrying about what you may or may not have. The symptoms you have are generic and not everyone with herpes even gets all of the ones you listed. I didn't, yet I definitely have herpes! It won't spread to your face either, btw.

The specialist won't test me because.if.I've ever had a cold sore, which I have, it'll be positive. I mentioned the IgG and she said the best way is to have an OB swab bed and tested. Idk what else this could be as the tingling started a.day after sex w a new partner and then I got really sick and miserable.

The best way to test is by swab, true, but failing that the IgG test is fine. I remember responding to that point now, as you mentioned it before elsewhere. Having HSV-1 can throw the results a little for some people, but not always, and if you score high for HSV-2, that can be taken as a likely true positive. There's also the $$$$ UoW western blot, which is definitive, no cross-reactions.

P.S. Maybe you should consider a different clinic, if your doctor won't test without symptoms.

Yeah I would love to get to the bottom of this but I'm so busy. I work and go to a private college full time and I have a 9 year old son who is a very good kid. I k l just love him. I'm busy. I don't have time to jump from one doc to another... not that it's not important by any means but the symptoms have somewhat subsided and no ob and I wasn't really sexually active before and I'm Def not now so no need to right now... trust me this is high on my to do list but I have a very demanding life as it is. When and if an.OB happens I can take care of it then. They say don't stress. HA my life is stress so not sure how else to cope w that. I may look else where for a blood test tho.

      That could be anything tho

Doesn't necessarily mean you have herpes ..

You can get you a blood test done if it comes down to it because you really shouldn't be Iiving in the dark with this..

Most people don't get diagnosed with this until they have some type of outbreak ..

I can say from experience I didn't have any symptoms of that , at all .

They don't have to do a swab test that could take a while ..

Did you ask her to give you a blood test ??

I don't wanna be living in the dark w this. It sucks. I mean idk what else it could be. I could ask for a blood test but they keep saying it probably won't be accurate and I don't need an unsure diagnosis right now to give me a false hope. Idk I understand getting tested please believe I want it too bcuz ur right I am living in the dark w this right now but idk...and I swear I have these little bumps on my face and my face has gotten really dry n they itch sometimes but they are barely there but I know they're there. What else could this be?

Having Type 1, if anything, may cause an equivocal or low false positive for Type 2. There's no false hope in that?! Your facial issues are unrelated...

All these issues happened after sex in January. I'm a very healthy person. I run and work out and eat pretty healthy, after that my body seems to have gone through hell. Idk I hope it's not related but... thank yous for your insight in this sucky, unsure time in my life. These forums have definitely gotten me through some stuff

Went back to your other post to refresh my memory and I would honestly relax if I were you. You've not had an outbreak, at worst it's Type 1 (which, if genital, is barely an issue), and it could well be an oral infection, even an existing one that's asymptomatic. No need to feel so sad!

Thank you, I do feel a lot better now. Something that really brought me down was just the fact that an ex (who I know for sure is clean) wanted to have sex and I couldn't because I didn't want to possibly give this to her. So that really sucked
