I'm searching for some help with Fibro. Has anyone found anything that helps?

And I've suffered on and off over the past 15 years with fibromialgia. But as recent as the first of the year I've been plagued with severe symptoms on a daily basis. Some days are horrible some days manageable but there's never a good day. I'd appreciate any words of wisdom anyone for a living with this!

as you know it is hell to live with i have a prescripstion cream called capsician as my spine is a horrific pain the cream has chillies in it so you have got to wash your hands thoroughly after use as if it gets in your eyes you will know about it and you cant put it all over your body as its just a tube i put it on which part is worse that day it is a great painkiller also my doctor put me on mst continus a tablet containing morphine he put me on 15mg twice a day as they are a slow release tablet and work up to 12hrs but i had to get him to uped them to 30mg twice a day they do help but as you know nothing but lying in a hot bath makes you pain free it is one debilatating illness people wouldnt believe the pain of it very deppressing some people say cider apple vinegar in the bath is very good but i have yet to try that keep your chin up and soldier on regards

    Hi

Have you tried any vitamin supplements at all.  I take various Bs and magnesium and just started with some vit D.  I think the vitamins do help somewhat although to early to know about the D yet.

    Good luck

Hi susanp1958 Ive had for over 16 years Im unable to take anything for pain as allergic to opoids. Paceing ourselves is important as push to hard fibro pushes harder back. and causes us more pain. Stress worry dont help our condition, keeping stress worry levels down does help but not always easy. to do. I use hot water bottles to help ease the pain hot showers baths can some times help. some people use herbal remedies, some people have tried accupuncture hydrotherapy massage. trouble is with fibro it affects us all differently its finding what works for you and what doesnt. as what works for 1 person may not for another. drs can also refer you to a pain clinic. some areas also have fibro support groups. I just take each day as it comes listen to what my body tells me and pace myself and not push to hard, as Ive found I come off worse.and rest plenty just listen to what your body is telling you. fibro symptoms vary in how long they last and their severity it all depends on how fibro affects you. also dont focus on fibro focus your mind onto something other than fibro, whether its reading a book watching tele listening to music pampering ourselves and treating ourselves now again helps to give us a boost. hope you find something that works for you pace listen to what your body tells you dont push yourself with fibro. take care

Thanks Kaz for sharing your experience. It is a day by day process isn't it. My doctor prescribed a low dose of gabapentin. The side effect are very interesting. I'll see how this goes...
