I'm still panicing.

I posted on here two days ago about how I can't calm myself down and that I can't handle it.  Two days later and I am still the same.  I've been to the doctors and been given diazapam, but I still feel the same.  I can't cope much longer.  I am literally at the end of the road.  I can't stand feeling like this and it just doesn't seem to go away.  I can't sleep more than two/three hours, I'm cold but I'm sweating, my heart is racing, I feel sick, I'm shaking, I can't even go down the stairs or eat.  I've tried everything to try calm down.  I've just been in a bath for an hour and a half to see if that would help but still, nothing.  I literally don't have any idea what to do, i CAN'T stand feeling like this.  I've had to tell my boyfriend not to come down because I'm scared.. I don't know why.  Sorry for the long post, I just don't know what to do.

Try Propranolol to calm you down especially your heart...

Than go to Dr for anxiety treatment......

I have 40mg of propanolol, still nothing.  I've had anxiety treatment before, and am on medication for it but.. for some unknown reason I'm really bad right now.

What medications do you take for anxiety?

How long do you take it?

I'm on 150mg of sertraline once a day, and 40mg of propanolol.  Been on it for a year, maybe more.

Talk to your Dr maybe to switch the therapy with another SSRI...

I was at my doctors today and asked about therapy as I'm not in any just now, but they say it will take a couple of weeks. sad

Diazepam is xannax right? I felt like that for the longest time. I couldn't move, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat. Everything made me anxious. It's the scariest thing in the world. It will eventually pass. Do you know what brought this on?

I honestly have no idea, I've never heard of xannax.  That;s excatly how i feel just now.  I honestly have no idea what brought it on, all i know is that this is horrendous

I would try ativan... It's a benzodiazepine so its addicting yet but it works for me.. xanax always made me more anxious.. so I never took that again. benzodiazepines work differently for everyone. I was in full panic for a long time when mine first started, I could eat, or sleep. I could only drink water. the first time they gave me ativan since I wasn't sleeping it knocked me on my ass and I slept like a baby.

I'm sorry, diezapam is valium. I am so sorry you are feeling this way. I wish I could magically take away your anxiety. It's one of the worst feelings in the world I know. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I would tell the doc that what they gave you isn't working. I've been in panic mode since valentines day, I have an inner ear infection called labyrinthitis so I'm on 3 different meds and I'm constantly dizzy. I know how it is. sad I hope something helps.

Oh jeez!! I literally have no idea how you can cope! I just wish there was something to take it away.  I really hope you feel better soon x

two plus days of panicked senses sounds like an absolute nightmare to me. so sorry you are dealing with that! can you try to meditate? i only recently learned tgat it can actually help you calm down, even while panicking. you can get free meditation podcasts on itunes.

also, sounds like diazepam isn't agreeing with you. talk to your doctor as soon as possible and the her this cannot go on this way. you need meds that make you feel better, not worse! the medicine is meant to help! good luck.

    Lauren,

It sounds like you are suffering from an acute anxiety reaction and I'm wondering if you have some ailment that is causing you to produce too much adrenaline. Have you seen a endocrinologist? If you are overproducing fight or flight hormones, no amount of diazapam will help you but it can be controlled and you WILL BE BETTER. Don't despair! Call your doctor now and get back in to see an endocrinologist to rule out a hormonal or parasympathetic/sympathetic system imbalance.  If you feel unsafe, go to the hospital and make them keep you till you're stabilized. I can't imagine how awful you must feel - my heart goes out to you.

Unfortunatly it's 10 to 11 over here so no doctors are available. I just want to feel normal, but nothing at all seems to be working and it's killing me.  I want to go to the hospital, but i feel incredibly stupid going in for a panic attack.. I keep thinking they will just laugh in my face.  It is awful, and so exhausting.  Thank you xxx
