I'm Stuck!

Hi all

Well im fed up.... literally!! :o

For the past two weeks my weight hasnt changed from 17st 4. Ive been exercising like crazy and being careful what I eat. Although I did go out on Saturday and get rather drunk... I felt id deserved it though as Ive been working so hard. I only drank wine!

Its such a pain that the scales arent reflecting the hardwork im putting in. My exercise routine is this .... 10 minutes running, 20 minutes running the island laps on wii several times, 10mins hoola hooping on wii and then stepper for 10minutes... ive been doing that almost everyday.

So far ive lost 4 stone but I now dont seem to be able to shift anymore.

Does anyone have any advice? I'm really starting to get fed up (no pun intended this time lol)

Thanks

Steph

Hi Steph, 4 stone is a mega amount to lose. Well done. Have you tried going for a brisk walk (with or without a dog) or swimming (says she who hardly takes any exercise)

Don't get disheartened, it happens to everyone, your body just gets used to what you are doing and plateaus, you could try mixing things up for a few days, have a couple of days off (but not ott) then change back to what you know worked in the begining, sometimes yr body adjusts to the input output and metabolism stabilises which equals no weight loss - so trick yr body! Which is why you have couple of days of normal careful eating and yr body thinks (hey the famine is over and metabolism rises) and then you shock it back into action by cutting down again and so on, you can balance the calories out over a week and still lose! I have done this several times and it seems to kick start me, change your exercise too, get outdoors fir brisk walk incorporate some hills so you are slightly out of breath and little sweaty - that's when you burn those calories, good luck hope that helps mm

Thanks for the advice guys, I think i'll try walking for a few days and then go back to my regular routine. To be honest the last couple of days I have been feeling quite tired, I think maybe i've been pushing myself a little too hard. My knees have been quite painful and ive generally felt a little lifeless.... I'll give the walking a go.

    Thanks!

well done, my nurse did say that the body will get used to the new regime and may need a kick start from time to time, so slight alterations to diet and exercise occasionally will get you back on track and looks like it has done that for you

keep up you are doing great

Well done, I feel your pain with you. It's so infuriating when you work hard and the scales seem to be stuck, but with perseverance and determination it does move downwards again, keep up the good work x x
