I’m very new to PR and having anxiety for some days now

I was diagnosed with PR Saturday. This is my first time ever having this, I thought it was allergic reaction to something I ate or detergent I was washing with. Pr started my lower back with the mother patch which I thought it’s a rash and it will go away a day or two later my stomach, inner thighs, ribs, butt, underarms, back (little bit)and chest is in disaster, I was taking hot showers  which caused alot of irritating to my skin so I started to put blue star ointment which my skin had gotten really hot like a hot and icy pad before going to the doctor. The doctor told me I had PR and nothing I couldn’t do but let it run itself and goes away on its own. So I started my own little treatment I stop wearing  my bath and body works lotions and perfume which sucks. So I started this routine for PR:

1 Bathe with Aveeno oatmeal and a squirt of tea tree oil day and night

2 Wash with  the soap of cetaphil and I used Head and Shower Shampoo even though I got 2in2 or oatmeal soap with hemp products I purchase at a store

3 After bathing I dry off completely

4 I used 3 products at the same time they are Aloe Vera Gel, Calamine, and Tea Tree Oil. I go back over it with calamine on my body.

5 I use the oil oregano which stops the itchiness at night and day

6 I take a bendryal before I go to sleep

7 I feel better and  less itchiness.

I’m still during research on PR, and trying to stop the anxiety. I know this is very depressing and make you feel at your low. When I look in the mirror I called myself Dalmatian because they have spots and embraced them. I know how you feel about PR low too the world and everything .

ROFL!!!!! I like your sense of humor!!!! Dalmatian, yup! Hope yours clears up soon! This is usually a "once and done" disease, so you should never have it again. If Benedryl helps, it might be an allergic reaction.

It looks like we have the same trouble!!

Know you are not alone in this journey and don't get down, it wont help, so chin up! They say it will go, so lets try and be patient.

?I've heard hot long baths (or showers) is a no no... probably better cool  rather than hot water so you don't irritate your skin. Fragrance free, soap free and no rubbing (tap tap tap is much better!).

?I'm using calamine too and finding it really good at taking the redness out.

Have you seen any improvement with Oregano and Tea tree oils?

?Thank you for sharing your story and I hope you get better soon!

That's great news!!!!! I looked at their ingredients too, and by the time I bought all the stuff it would have been more than the cream, and then I did not know how much of what....
