I'm worried I have dementia

I'm so worried at the moment, I suffer with very bad health anxiety and I'm convinced I've got dementia /alzeimers. I'm 50 and could be going through menopause but not really sure, I Google my symptoms and the above 2 illnesses pop up. My memory is quite bad, and just lately I've started to make quite a few stupid mistakes at work. I work in a cash office and have inputted wrong figures etc. I manage to sort it out but I get myself into such a state that I end up making things worse. I also sometimes have foggy think g and get confused when people ask me certain things. It doesn't happen all the time just sometimes. But if I'm worrying about it it just magnifies it. I can't sleep or eat, I feel like my life is over. I'm frightened of goi g to doctors in case they say I need to see someone, my partner says there's nothing wrong with me it's just my anxiety.

Hi Lisa have you done the online dementia test, also you do get poor memory I find when I'm stressed, anxious or if I remember the poor memory seemed to be quite apparent when I went through the menapause but as I had all tests and I don't have either memory loss disease.

The fact that you are asking the question shows you are anxious about it and that will cause you to spend to much time overthinking it.

Hi Lisa. Please go and speak to your doctor. I have similar symptoms and am going through menopause. Things like your describing started a few years ago for me. I still have brain fog all the time but also have the hot flashes, too

Hi I tend to agree with your partner.  This sounds more like anxiety to me and age too. I found as I have aged my memory is a lot poorer.  Go and see your doctor and get a proper diagnosis.  x
