I managed to put my LS into remission!

I shared this story in another thread but I thought it might be worth sharing here as well in the hopes that it's of some help to someone. If you're interested in reading that to give a bit more context to below, you can find it here: https://patient.info/forums/discuss/i-am-so-bloody-confused--679183
Just thought I'd update you all on how I was doing over the past month or so with my LS. So as you all know I decided to try and retract my foreskin all the time and see if it made a difference as my doctor was convinced it was urine which was getting trapped underneath my foreskin and interacting with my skin which was causing my LS. My functional doctor on the other hand said this was crazy and it was my immune system was at fault.
I decided to retract my foreskin anyway and over the first few weeks, i noticed that all the skin started peeling off my glans slowly and for the first week or so it looked incredibly dry and flaky and I wasn't sure if anything was working. Gradually however, all the dead, damaged skin came off and I can honestly say it looks like all my LS is gone. I used to have a big red patch on top of my glans, this actually started to crust up first and it came off over is layers. My glans look very healthy now with no sign of LS.
I really don't know what this means, but what I'm leaning towards is that urine and a weakened immune system = LS. If it was simply urine, surely everybody would have it.
Anyway, I hope this is of some help to you all. I know it's harder for women to eliminate urine but it would amazing to confirm if urine is indeed part of the problem as it would bring us one step closer to killing this horrible condition!!

good evening tweetmepete, interesting ... very interesting . i had also posted about urine and ls. i dont know why, but it came to my mind at one point that it might be linked because for some moment in my life i was doing a house flipping and on my work site we were sometimes s missing toilet paper with all the guys working there. i can remember sometime just rushing to go pee and seing there was no toilet paper ( you had to be there to realy understand) but my ls showed up after that uge stressful project. i was working with construction jeans and boots so the last thing i was woried about was to whipe properly when your rushing and you have to wee ( even with no bathroom tissus) you just do it sometimes and wash your clothes after the work day. ??? maybe theres a link

yeah I feel there is something to the urine alright. There was a girl commenting on a previous thread I had as well and she said that she had a drip line on her inside calf and that's where her LS was as well. It would be really interesting if you could try and find a way that would drastically reduce any urine contact and see if it made a difference. I know it's much harder for women mind you.

Hi I am wondering what do you mean by remission? Are you now symptom less, if so how long have you been symptom less? Do you still use treatments reguarly . I hardly have any symptoms now and only get slight itching and then use dermovate to stop this. I use dermovate as little as i can as multiple doctors recommended me to use it this way rather than twice a week.

Hi there, so basically I have suffered from LS for over 3 years with constant pain, burning, itch and a rash. I tried every single steroid I could find and they only made things worse. Anyway, my doctor was pushing for a circumcision but I decided that I would simply retract instead. I have been symptom free now for nearly a month, I don't use any treatment at all and this is the first time in over 3 years that I could say that.

Wow thats really good! glad that you have found something that works for you. Thinking about it now the itching that i get is in the area that urine touches and all the other areas seems under control, I will start to put coconut oil on before i go to the toilet to try and reduce the contact with the skin
