Thanks guys don't know what I would do without you all moonface and all I will wait for my month to go by before going down after all it's just more of me to love

That's the spirit Teri, love actually comes from the inside and not necessary the outside.  And you are right there is just a chubbier person on the outside and a thinner one on the inside, just love them both.

Hi Teri and all my other PMR friends out there, just go with the flo Teri as they are telling you its a small price to pay having a moon face and extra weight, think positive I know thats very hard . I have been very tearful these last two weeks  as I now have to have  and ICD fitted as i have heart failure. I had a heart attack 10 years ago and have been fine but due to extra stess from waiting for a hernia op and a bad flare up of Pmr my heart is not working properly. I have said before I have had pmr for 14 years now ,I have had some good times  where it has settled then different things set it off again, I sadly have put on  3stone in the last year a nightmare . I hate it. but I know when this flare up goes away I will loose some weight. Now I have been diagnosed with steroid induced diabetes another

nightmare. and I get very upset  then I read about others worse than me and  I guess we all have to support each other   put a brave face on  and unfortunatly learn to live with it hard as that is . so chins up all us moon faces  and tomorrow will bring better things at least we are alive. xx

I think I said last night that I would check in with my weight.  Well I stuck to the  slimming plan 150% and didn't lose as much as 1 ounce.  But I will not be defeated.  I just gotta keep on trying.  Truth to be told, I actually couldn't eat any less.  Patconfused

It may well be you are not eating ENOUGH! It may sound crackers but if you eat too little your body goes into starvation mode and hangs onto all your fat "just in case".

Hi pat, what a nuisance, if it's any consolation I didn't lose  so much as an ounce last week either. Boo hoo! I'll let you know how much I lost in total for my first month of dieting next week. Christina

Thanks Eileen, I know.  If the body isn't getting enough food it will go in to a famine state and hold on the fat.  I have tried for over 10 years to lose weight.  I have gone private have attended Endocrinology, have had a personal trainer who in the end asked my permission to ring my doctor.  I had to do a food diary each week and I seen the PT 3 times a week and she put me through my paces and I was burning up to 540 cals in 1 hour.  I lost about 7lb and then stopped.  I have listened to every platitude, eat little and often, you can survive on 1 meal a day (a hospital consultant told me this off the record) don't eat after six, cut out diary, cut out wheat.

People are well intentioned I know, but it does become tiresome.  When the personal trainer looked at my food diaries and she never left my side putting me through every kind of exercise, she said that whatever was happening, was happening on the inside.  I cried, because now someone else was aware of the problem.  She did speak to my dr who re referred me to Endocrinolgy.  I was discharged last year.  Everything is showing normal.  My skin is paper thin, my hair is thin.  I have many symptoms that would look like underactive thyroid, but my bloods show it is slap bang in the middle.  Alas and Alac just gotta get on with it.  But thanks anyway.    Pat
