I NEED HELP! Pancreas cysts I am a wreck

Hello my name is Jennifer I am 51 years old. I went for a Thoracic spine MRI a week and a half ago. Ordered by my pain management doctor. Had MRI on a Thurs, went to him on the following Mon. I was told I had a 18 x 27 mm cyst on the tail of my pancreas, a renal nodule and some gallstones. I went to my Gastro doctor yesterday, I was crying and in a panicked state. He explained these cysts are usually found acidentally, he thinks it is a benign cyst and it is in a good place if it needs to be removed because the tail is a better spot for removal. I just have so many questions and my doctor is wonderful, but he has other patients too. He took blood work to check for some sort of chemical that would show cancer or something that would show a problem. He gave me a script for the MRI and said it was a "routine" under the priority column. My question is how do i handle this I am scared to death. If the radiologist thought it was cancer would he have called my pain management doc right away? instead of just sending it over? please I need advice

how do you calculate size from the 3 x 3 x 3mm or cm measurements? I am in the waiting game and have an BD IPMN OR PSEUDOCYST & am very worried as well... comforted reading your posts!

Hello,
I am turning 55 next month and I recently went for an MRI of my lower back because of back pain and potential pinched nerve. during that exam they noticed a 1.4 cm cyst in the uncinate process of the pancreas (which is part of the head). My primary doctor called me to tell me since he received a copy of the MRI report. He told me to go see a specialist (gastro). I made an appt and saw him last week. He then said he was recommending me to another specialist to have a EUS (Endocopic ultrasound) to have a biopsy done.
I have been terrified ever since because my father died of pancreatic cancer 5 years ago. He was 71 and when they found it, it was too late. they tried to remove it with surgery but it was not successful. They gave him chemo but that did not work either. He died 7 months after the diagnosis.
I know that my cyst could be benign but it brings back so many memories of my dad and having to go with him to all his appointments and all the fight he put in for nothing. I know I should be optimistic as they found the cyst early it is still small and hopefully the biopsy will come back as benign.
I will be going to see the specialist on June 15th and the biopsy is scheduled for July 11th. Which seems like a long time to wait but these specialist had a 6 to 9 month wait but since my gastro knows him he got me in as soon as possible.
Has anyone in this forum had or known someone who had this type of cysts. Because of where it is in the pancreas it seems it an IPMN cyst. Which means intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm. Which form in the head or middle of the pancreas and can get into the branch for main ducts of the pancreas.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
