Hi Chad. Well personally, I get that now and then when my blood pressure is low. I can't speak for anyone else but it is not a fun symptom. I take a bit of water with salt in it when I have that. I find also that certain supplements lower my blood pressure and then I get those symptoms as well. You could be low in iron also Chad. I would get a thorough blood test done to make sure all is normal. I would not stress about it if I were you though. Otherwise I hope that you are managing your FM successfully. Warmest Regards. Maggie

Hi Chad, I get dizzy sometimes. I would sit and feel like I had to sit back down. I would lay back down right after and have the same feeling. I usually lay with my feet elevated so that seem to help. I'm not sure if was my blood pressure or med I was taking. Some of the combination medication that is prescribed for fibromyalgia can cause dizziness. If you are taking a muscle relaxer for instance gabapentin there is an increase chance for drowsiness and dizziness. At the time of my dizziness I was taking Topamax for migraines. I would like at the meds you are taking. Maggie give good advice for low blood pressure also.

Hi Chad; sorry this has taken me over a week to reply, as was waiting to see what others had to say, as I am of 2 minds as to the cause of my dizziness etc. I have been having these issues for over 12 months+ now, and yes, have led to having lost my balance and had falls too.
?I first researched this symptom, and found that 'auto-immune conditions can attack the inner ear canals, causing the gel to harden, resulting in the Crystals getting stuck in one of the 3 canals, hence causing an issue with out Equilibrium". I also spoke to GP and physio, who both felt it had Nothing to do with Fibro, but more to do with an injury to head (??? concussion etc). I then sought the help of a Specialist Physio, who performed a special exercise on my head/ear canals, having told me that My L) Posterior Canal was affected. This did seem to help, and had decreased the dizziness (severity and frequencey of same), and myself having to continue these exercises 2 - 3 times each day. this was a couple of weeks ago.
?However, I am still not sure which is the answer, though, as over the past couple of days, I am noticiing a few episodes of the dizziness/imbalance recurring. So, at this stage, I feel that a visit to a physio, may give you some assistance??
?I also agree that my episodes were worse if I needed to increase my Gabapentin tabs (from 400 to 800 in a day) ???
?I hope I have given you something to think about; but do suggest if you find your episodes becoming of a concern, do seek the help of a "good, experienced" physio, who understands, and knows how to treat this certain problem.
Good luck. Bron
